I think I might have seen it fully charged once... usually right at the + - marks

 

right...right at the marks but never the battery completely filled up...meaning to the top of the battery

 

I've seen it passed the marks once or twice.

 

Only gone about 500 miles so far, but I've never seen it pass those marks either. On the nav system, it looks like there are room for one or two bars. Guessing I'd have to be taking a long down-hill ride to get there.

 

Don't think I've ever seen mine above the + / - terminals. That seems to be the fully charged level.

 

The HSD system keeps the battery within 80 to i believe 20-30 percent charge. By preventing overcharging or complete discharging, the battery lasts longer, and doesn't overheat from overcharging, which also kills battery life. This is why these NiMH batteries last longer than most batteries in laptops and cellphones. The battery management is there to ensure they last that long.
