I ordered my CT about a week ago. It is supposed to take 2 weeks. The dealership has called me twice and is offering me the same model but with Nav at a significantly reduced price (about 2k off msrp). I ordered mine without Nav because I don’t care for how it looks on the dash...functionally I am sure it is great.

Just curious...if you got it do you like it? If you didn’t get it...do you wish you had? I’d like to hear your opinions.

Unless you really hate nav for some reason I would do it. It's nice to control everything from the remote. Good taste on the rest of the car!

Definitely go with the nav. Especially if they're giving you a deal on it. You won't be disappointed.

My experience was similar - I didn't care for how it looked like it was going to look, if that makes sense. I hadn't seen one with a navigation screen in person, but I know that I didn't like the idea of having it on top of the dash.

In practice, I LOVE it. It's easier to cast a quick glance at the level of the road, rather than looking down. I like how it's recessed, too. It looks much more elegant than I'd have guessed from seeing it in pictures.

But the functionality is the killer. It works even better than you'd think it would.

I can see somebody not wanting to pay extra for this package though. Everybody knows what a feature is worth to them, and if it doesn't seem worth it to somebody, well, it's not.

But in your position, getting a very rare discount on ANY model of CT, take it as a sign that this is meant to be. You'll enjoy it.

if you are going to get a deal on it, might as well. however, to answer your original question, i don't have it and don't need/miss it. my $90 Garmin works just as well.

I specifically wanted one without Nav, but when one came available with and I saw it for the first time, it's pretty awesome. I can't imagine how it would be controlling the XM without it, and for being such a technologically advanced car, it continues the spaceship/cockpit feel of the driver's ergonomics.

I am working with Lexus of El Cajon ....I ordered my CT though them. What they did was they searched and ended up finding exactly what I was looking for in transit from Japan. They then tag the car as "sold" which expedites shipping.

It takes tow weeks to ship the car from Japan to Southern California....If you can find what you are looking for in the lists of cars in transit my understanding is tat you can get one pretty quickly.

By the way these are all 2011's. Dealer did not mention 2012s at all.?

I have navigation on my CT200h, but I'm not impressed with it at all... Too many electronic "bongs" at intersections and too many directions given out... even through the turn by turn directions are given by a very plesant female voice. I have navigation in my Acura TL and it's far better -- easier to use (less steps to enter), less talking and you can enter and change destinations while driving -- all while using minimal voice commands. Except for the digital/visual rush and toy factor, I don't think I'd spend the money for navigation in a Lexus again.

You can setup you NAV system

i ordered mine with the nav, my old car had a double din system on the inside, and i cant imagine not having a car without a screen in it... it seems hard to put an aftermarket system in this car, but it has been done, ive seen on this forum, but it still isnt as nice as the built in lexus one

also for a few thousand dollars, its worth it, with the mouse feature that lexus has...

Agreed, many of the defaults are not where I'd put them....but I've really come to appreciate the "it's coming...and it's HERE" double bong in particular. I find I don't want to live without it.

I also use the Destination Assist all the time. Is that the right name? The thing where somebody in a control center helps you. I've used it to load up something specific that I'm driving toward (Can you put in the Ace Hardware on 111 for me?) make recommendations (they have the Zagat restaurant guide at their fingertips), and the other day, it was driving my wife crazy that she couldn't remember how to delete a destination -- so she called them up and they did it for her!

We've obviously got a free year of this, but if I keep using it as much as I am now, I'll definitely be renewing. This is one thing that really sets a Lexus nav system apart.

Love that too. The voice control for my phone also works better through the car than it does through my phone. It's the first truly hands free mobile phoning I've ever done.

As others have, I also have to share my love for the mouse.

Again, I get that these features may not be worth this much to YOU...but it's a slam dunk for me. I'll definitely get a nav package every time from here on.

With ENFORM and eDestination you can build address folders on your PC and download to the Lexus navigation. It also adds voice commands and bluetooth for you phone and other bluetooth devices. The audio is automatically controlled between Nav and the other audio sources. I am just not sure your $90 Garmin can handle all of the above . I like Garmin , I have a Garmin Colorado 400t which I use when hiking .

I didn't care much about nav but when I saw the ct with nav...I like it much more than the one w/o nav...the remote touch the screen and all the options I saw on the screen...in ur case def get the nav if the dealer give u 2k off...that's about the price of the nav option

your point is well-taken that you do get a nice "integrated" feel with the nav. the question is one of value and i am not saying that it is NOT worth the MSRP $2445 vs. a $90 garmin. i do not have Nav but i still have Bluetooth, AM/FM, AUX, fuel displays, etc etc. it is not as "pretty" as the integrated Nav. but my value system doesn't value "pretty" at ~$2400. However, if you are going to get a $2k discount ANYWAYS then you are practically getting it for free and i say go for it. unfortunately, that $2k discount was not offered to me (nor the majority of buyers on this forum). But don't think that the value-added for a nice "integrated" system is worth $2k to everyone.
