Just had my windows tinted with Llumar 40% Ceramic film and also installed the DDM Tuning Slim HID headlight kit (5000k @ 35W).

Let me know what you think!

Damn jimmy, looks real good! The smoky granite with tint would have been my second choice of color. You can really tell the difference between the whiteness HID kit and the DRLs. The fogs are the H11 piaa correct? (Think that might be next thing for me)

You got anything else planned?

Thanks man! Yes, the fogs are the 2500k piaa's (got mine thru Amazon, cheapest price). So much yellower in person than in the night time pics.

I'm going to be hardwiring my Escort radar detector soon, just ordered the hardwire kit from Best Buy. Would love some rims too, just need to see where things land with lowering springs for this car first. I hate the jacked-up look when upsizing wheels w/out a drop. We will see.

Looking good! Where'd you go to get your tint done? Of the few places I've used for my vehicles, 40% has never been an option. It's either 35% or 20%. The 40% is so clean though. How'd the install go for the HIDs? I wish something could be done to better match the colors of the HID and the LED. I'll get over it when the time comes though.

Thanks Lex, I tried a new place my buddy recommended. It's called Eastern Glass Tinting Co. in Charlestown. I have to admit, I am going there for all future tinting needs. ZERO flaws and I was able to sit there in the shop & see how they do the install. The guy who does it is the owner, very nice guy.

I was able to get the 40% option because of the ceramic, apparently those shades are different than normal tint.

HID's were a bit tricker than I imagined, but could have been worse (if it wasn't plug & play). Finding a spot for the ballasts using velcro mounting wasn't the easiest task, but I figured it out eventually. Also, the bulbs are not made like OEM ones which have metal where the 3 tabs are . The HID bulbs had 3 plastic tabs and you really had to push them inward a lot to get them to turn.

Light output is great and the color is AWESOME. Love the cutoff too. I think if you wanted a bulb to match the LED's you could go with the bulb just lower than the 5000k? Might be risky though, you wouldn't want them to be yellow.

Thanks for the notes. I'm gonna look them up... sounds familiar for some reason. I think the lowest temp for HIDs before getting yellow is 4300k so I might give that a go. We'll be on for a photoshoot!
