Intro-Tech Ultimate Reflector Sun Shade or the HeatShield Front Window Shade? I bought them both from CT200Chat.com and found each had plusses and minuses.

The Intro-Tech Ultimate Reflector Sun Shade $59.50 works well because it folds easily and also has a cover. The cover looks like a one size fits all with it being a lot longer than the actual sun shade. I imagine I won't always take the time to use it. The only drawback to the sunshade is it is a little short in height. You need to put down your visors to hold it in place.

The HeatShield Front Window Shade $34.95 fits nice and secure in the window, with no need to use the visors. Its drawback is rolling it up securely. If you don't it unrolls and takes over your back seat. Then you have to fight with it to get it in its unrolled position up to the front to use it.

Not really sure which one I will settle with.

I got the Intro-Tech Ultimate Reflector Sun Shade and like this style better then the roll up. All this type require you to fold down the visors to hold them up in place. Actually I'm surprised the roll up one doesn't require it also, as the one my wife had for her Prius did.

I got the Heatshield one. It does fit pretty snug. The middle section dips a little, but not a big deal. I like it. Mine looks the most secure, fit and effective compared to other cars I see out in the lot at work.
The downside is, as you mention, fighting it while in the front seat trying to roll it up. But...that's a very small price to pay for being half the price of the other, in my opinion.

I have to fight with my Heatshield when rolling it up too. hehe I also put my visors down to hold it up. It fits good and definitely makes a difference when the car is in direct sunlight.

I would probably like the fold up style better though...but I'm not gonna spend $60 more buck to change. Oh well... ;-)

Just "slapped it on", no visors are holding it up. Slightly dipped in the middle due to lack of support (and because of that parking permit tag hanging on my mirror). Coverage is pretty solid as you can see.
A random 'real world' photo...no tricks (like most ads where they have it taped or supported in the back to make it look 100% fit).

Here are some pictures that show the two side by side. Also another picture that shows how much too long the storage bag is compared to the fold up shade. So far I think I like the fold up shade the best. Too many times I fought getting the rollup shade from the backseat to the front and lost.

I actually bought both. It was no contest...gave the roll up one away to a friend with a Saab (close fit). Fold up = way to go.

Wow, I like the stiffness of the fold up one. Mine definitely dips in the middle, but keeps the Houston heat at bay really well.

Question: Is the cut out for the rearview mirror really that big? I'm trying to tell by the pic, but I'm not sure if it is the reflection. It looks like the cut out is so big that it may allow too much heat in. Are my eyes deceiving me guys? ;-)

Yes Gurl, the cut out is bigger with the fold-up and it is also a bit short. That's why you have to use the visors to hold it in place. I am currently using the fold-up but might change back to the roll-up when we hit those sure to come 100+ degree days. It covers the window better.

^^^ Thanks Matadoress that settles it for me. I think I will stick with the roll up one because that hole will allow wayyy to much Houston heat in. The black dash & interior need all the help I can give it. ;-)

Thanks for these photos. Now that the heat is here in full effect in the northeast, I am thinking of getting one of these. I think the fold-up one looks better made and I really like that it folds up & doesn't appear to take up as much room as the roll-up one. I see that the bag is a bit longer than the shade itself, but the fix there seems to be to just fold over the end of the bag!

Toss the bag it came in - too much trouble...just keep it folded up on floor behind front seats.

To those that say the fold up is too short, as evidenced by the need to use sun visors to hold in place, thats what you're supposed to do on all fold ups...this is my fourth car with them, and the visors are standard operating procedure to hold in place against the glass at top.

The problem with the fold up one is the cutout for the mirror is really big and it is a bit short so it doesn't block out enough sun. Probably since it is rigid construction it needs a lot of clearance to get it around the mirror and in the window.

The rollup is flexible so it can be bigger and cover more of the window. I like the fold up for putting it up and down and storing when not in use, but for these 100 plus degree days I am using the flexible one. (even though I do say some bad words when I am trying to shove it in the back seat ) The manufacturer needs to make the Velcro tie longer because if you don't roll it up tight there is not enough length to secure it.

When the weather backs off I will be using the fold up for sure. BTW, you're right. The cover is useless.

I use car window shades for my car from Home - Car Shades
They have been made to fit the shape of my car exactly. I highly recommend them.
I've never seen these before, but these aren't for the windshield, it says: Each set contains privacy shades for every window in the rear half of your vehicle.

Also, Lexus isn't listed that I could see?
