With the assistance of Lexus Corporate and Newport Lexus getting a fire lit under their you know what, my Fire Agate / Carmel w/ Nav CT will be mine next week! So I will post another thread on how my purchase goes .

What I'm doing to my CT will hopefully for the time being make it completely unique in the US and maybe the world.

1. The dealer has agreed to chrome my F-Sport wheels. You may find pictures of these wheels on the CT concept car at various auto shows last year. These wheels are going to be sweet!

2. The rear passenger seats are going to be modified to have a fold down arm rest complete with storage and built in cup holders. Basically I'm ripping off the design from the fold down rear arm rest from the new Audi A3. This is something we all wish our CT's had and was definitely something Lexus cut corners on this first years release. My fabricator is talking with Lexus right now to secure some extra Carmel Nu Luxe if he needs extra material once the seat is cut out a bit.

3. I am also ordering a 4300k HID headlamp conversion kit from a reputable company with a 10 year warranty for just $59.

4. Finally I am also going to integrate an iPad2 into the new CT! It will be placed basically in the same area as Axis' CT. I thought this was a great feature and would further enhance this CT.

So after all thats in whatya think??

definitely post pics when you're done! sounds like an ambitious endeavor! this was all because they didn't honor your deposit, correct? please give us some more info on what was done and the process you went through. i'd like to hear.

...oh, just my opinion, i think the f sport wheels come in a dark gunmetal color, which i think is really awesome. chroming them kind of defeats the purpose of the coolness of the wheel. just my humble opinion.

glad you got the issue sorted out.

1. Why ruin a perfectly good set of wheels??? Chrome is so... nineties.

2. Complicated modification. Will wind up being quite expensive, and risky since it will have to be completely custom. I hope that Lexus wises up and includes rear seat cupholders and the armrest in the next years model or eventually sometime... I'd swap it out at that point.

3. HID upgrade kits have legal issues in some states, better off just getting the LED headlights as an option or ordering them via the parts department and figuring out whats needed to do the upgrade with factory parts.

4. An integrated Ipad would be nice. But once again, a custom job on a new car, risky proposition.

I understand the chrome wheel appeal....I have factory chrome rims on my IS but will probably never own another car with chrome again. Huge pain in the you-know-what should you smash into a pothole, but they do look great...on a sunny day after having just been washed. ;)

Your ideas are cool. I plan on doing my own (not so dramatic) modifications when/if I can finally get mine in.

Look forward to seeing yours.

Boy Kosta some wine with your cheese! If chrome was so nineties why does it still hold 95% ( no pun intended ) of the after market wheel production? Guess we're all just stuck in the nineties. Cost is relative to everyone. Having an upholstered rear seat is not breaking my piggy bank. IMO it's quoted quite reasonable. I sell lighting for a living. $1500 is not justifiable for what a $59 HID kit can do. As far as the iPad2 idea again this is custom work and it's not a K Mart blue light special. I plan on keeping this car for awhile and may even add one in the back seat for the kids.

Interesting modifications, what color is your CT? Chrome would look good with the Daybreak yellow mica similar to concept. But I like the dark gunmetal for other colors. But to each's own.

Please upload pictures once everything is done. :)

Uh, no it doesn't. The current trend is black wheels. Walk into any wheel/tire store and take a look. The trend on the up-tick are funky color wheels (neon colors mostly).

Just look around, even the low rider crowd isn't sporting chrome wheels anymore, and Chrysler seems to be the only manufacturer selling OEM chrome wheels on new cars.

I gotta agree with Steve on this one. Chrome is played out. only the cheap *** donks and cheap/garbage wheels are still sold in chrome. But hey if you want to make a ghetto looking CT by all means have at it.

I think the I pad might be a cool feature but nothing more. Theres been a bunch of subie guys that have a custom mount. I'd be scared to park anywhere in So Cal in fear of some punkass kid breaking into the car to take it.
