Upgrade halogen headlights to LED ?

4047 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  mike9903
I recently bought my Ct200h and I wanted to swap my yellow halogens for some nice white bulbs. Seems like LED & HID both have pros & cons, & I've seen conflicting reviews of brightness & light distance, but I think I'm gonna go with the Beamtech LED's on Amazon for $37.

Has anyone had experience upgrading the halogen low beams? Please share your thoughts!

I have the Beamtechs. For the price they are pretty amazing. They are nice and white with a very even beam pattern. They are however definitely not as bright as HIDs. Probably about the same brightness as the original Halogens, just better color and pattern. I also upgraded the fog lights to the Beamtech's as well. I still use my Halogen brights if it's really dark out. For $37 it's an amazing deal!

Thanks man. I think I'll order them today. I recently installed the 25mm spacers in the rear and the car looks great just like that. I'm debating putting smaller spacers in the front too, but honestly the wheels aren't as far inset on the front as they are in the rear, so I might just leave the front as is (I don't want to have to grind studs or anything, since the fronts need less than 25mm to be flush).

But yeah, pretty sure these bulbs will be my next lil mod real soon, thanks.
Do you happen to have a link to the Beamtechs you're ordering? I have a 2011 and am not very well versed on headlights / whether they're "one size fits all". I'm interested in doing this easy upgrade to get better lights. Hallogens in general look pretty awful imo
