Thinking about tinting my ct (advice?, suggestions?)

I want to tint my ct.. I was wondering what you guys think about that decision? Is it even necessary?

Does anyone have any recommendation for good places to tint in the los angeles area and know how much it will cost?

I'd suggest going with Nano ceramic. It's offers best protection.Unsure what shade is legal on front windows, but whatever it is use it then just go one shade darker on the rears. I prefer this look, looks classy.Otherwise just go as dark as you like

California Tint Shop

Did all my tint work when I live in so cal.

thanks for this info! how much did you pay?
No tint on front windows is legal in Ca. I like my back windows dark, went with 5% on everything behind the front doors. Put the legal "clear tint" on front door windows, it is amazing how much heat and UV rays it blocks out.
Does the nano ceramic interefere with Nav or radio?

No it doesn't.Well, as far as I can tell.It sure makes a difference on those hot days.

With your laws, My choice would be nano clear front, then 35 on rears. or 50 on front on all windows.Which would be illegal, but who would pull you over.I've done it that way
I tinted legal limits for florida which I believe is 35% in the front and 20% in the back and rear. I definitely like the look of the back and rear being darker.
The cleanest look is 5% all around and thats why its used on nearly every car in every commercial. I always do 5% all around except for the windshield.

Though for this car I did 5% everywhere, 15% on two front windows, and a a 5% windshield strip.

How did your tint guy deal with the dot matrix?

He's very good, I've taken my last 5 cars to him and hes done an exceptional job on every one. I don't know how he does it but he always makes the tint lay beautifully over the dots on windshields.

Here's a pic of mine from the outside where it's kind of hard to tell.

blah just read california laws and it's 70% on side and any % on the back.. dont know if it's worth it anymore. cops are crazy broke nowadays and i bet you i would be lucky enough to get pulled over for this stupid crap.

jedi your tint looks great

update: i called my local tinting shop (which had good reviews on yelp) and they offered to do it for $185 but that does not include the windshield and it is also not ceramic
Im going to have my ct tinged in a few weeks. I was able to get the clear bra put on the bumper hood mirrors and front fender and it wiped me out. The first time it works it will be worth every penny. About the tint though, im concerned about how dark to get it and not obscure sight. Blind spots are nasty on this car. Worried that my wife will not be able to see.
jedi, how does it look in the middle over the dots? I had to get mine taken off because it looked so terrible

Woah, are you saying you put it on yourself!?

Hi. I also have tinted my windshield visor. Here's how they look from the outside and inside. Since it's still a fresh tint you will notice the dots are a lighter shade. But as time goes when the film shrinks a bit and seals tightly around the dots you'll have better results.
