Not sure if all ballasts are waterproof like these (Morimoto) but it's pretty cool that someone did a test like this and it worked...they submerged the ballast under water and it still works fine...here's the link. The manufacturer claims they are weatherproof but I didn't think it meant that you could do this and they would still work

most aftermarket slim ballasts are sealed and you'll notice at the plugs the rubber rings to help with the weatherproofing. I'm sure it's not only morimoto that can do this.

Yes - there are videos all over youtube showing ballasts that are sealed and those that are not !!!!!

I didn't know that...only because I have heard that the ballast's are usually the thing that goes bad due to poor seals and weather being a factor in corroding them...thanks for the info
