Nothing sensory about it. Just an incessant beep letting you know that you're in reverse. Annoying and completely unnecessary.

a bit disapointed that this car doesnt come with a reverse sensor.

I did order sensors but have canceled the order since the camera is all I need.

Just confirming...The tone is only heard inside the car and for no other reason than to let you know that your in reverse.

Why does one even need that feature? Does the car not have a display on the dash that shows "R" or something like that when you put it in reverse?
The beep is for the blind drivers who can't see the display lol
Don't know tbh, they offer it as an option here in Sweden. It's Lexus standard part, but you seem to miss a whole lot of accesories in the us of some reason. Not sure about Sweden, but in USA and UK it seems there are just packages. Can't order individual options. At least that is the way it looks from the lexus websites. This is a big fail in my opinion..

That is very interesting.. I sure didn't see this page before. I really just want a basic model, but would like the back up camera for safety coming out of my drive and would be nice to be able to get the turn down (for parking) side mirrors as an option too.. those two are all I really want.
A blue color option would be nice too! BMW offers 4-5 blues for the 3 series.. How there could be Zero for the CT is strange..

How did you get to that option page??? When one starts at touch.lexus.com and makes it to options.. it's not the same as what your page shows.. hmmm

Hurray Just had the dealer switch off the reverse beep.
Had the car 5 days now and it was beeping by default so I thought I would see how i went with it but it became really annoying and I found it quite distracting when you are supposed to be concentrating more !
At least it is changeable so people can chosse but I can't see why some of the changeable options are dealer only changeable ?

Annoying Beeps
The car is great but after 4 months of my brand new beautiful Lexus hybrid beeping at me every second that I'm in reverse makes me want to return the car for something else. It causes stress every time I have to back up. Just to get out of my garage I have to listen to at least 25 beeps. This is totally unnecessary and annoying. I'm fed up. I want the beep removed. It would be tolerable if the beep only sounded when your foot was on the brake and in reverse gear but once you start backing up it should stop. Whoever designed this flawed alert system needs some more training. Make him or her drive this car for a year.
