Steering Squeaking Problem

2862 Views 8 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Perl1947

I tried to search on the problem on the forum, but haven't had any luck...

Checked the power steering fluid level, it was good.

Anyone have any idea what could be the problem?

Does that sound happen when moving? What's it sound like from the outside? It almost reminds me of just tires rubbing on the ground as they turn.

It does not when moving, however, the sound happens on the smooth surface like parking lot as well too.

Also Similar sounds comes when I press brake pedal in a low speed or being stationary.

Found a similar case on the other forum, but no solution yet.

It's electrical power steering
No fluid.

Raise your front of the ct and check the noise?
If no noise
Raise front left size and check
Raise front right side and check

Thank you for suggestion, will do that!
Did you find the cause? I am having the exact same sound. Just bought a used lexus from an official dealership, but the dealer is quite far nd would like to save the trip to the dealership.
thanks

Hi ,check if the rubber cover of the lower suspension ball joint is leaking black grease ,also check the same with steering ball joints.
Probably Faulty ball joints?! Raise each side and carefully inspect.
Good luck.
