:) I'm excited to state I just got back from the dealer. I went for a test drive and was completely sold on the car. Very smooth, quiet, good acceleration, and crisp handling, better than the IS I had. Here in Canada, it's only $3K more than a Prius so without a doubt it was a no-brainer for me and don't need the extra space the Prius has. (We got a Venza as the family hauler). I always wanted a hybrid, but existing ones are somewhat boring or too expensive and the CT just is a complete package at really an exceptional price.

I signed on a new Matador Red Mica CT200h Touring package. Thankfully it's in the country and arriving next week on the 17th.

A final comment on negotiation as I see a few comments on this. I got a $750 rebate off MSRP as I went to the same dealer and same salesman as I had from back in '08 when I bought my IS. Tough to say if I would have had a rebate if this was my first Lexus or if I showed up at another dealer or salesman.

Congrats on your purchase! You'll love the car.
Just came back from the laurentians to my home close to Montreal, smooth ride and averaged 3.5 l/100km!
Wow, that's the best discount so far. (I think) Congrats!!
Thanks guys. I'm sure to enjoy it in a week when I get it.

To Claude, wow, 3.5L/100km ?? Incredible. I'd settle for "real-world driving" of in the 5L/100km range. I have family back in Montreal and will surely take the CT on a trip there (almost 600 km) in the next couple months and report back on the consumption.
Congrat! I drove this new lexus last week here in Montreal and felt in love with it!

Only problem is that i bought my Prius 8 months ago :(

But the dealership is very open to make me a great deal!

Hey Claude where did you buy your Lexus? I love that color but i think if i make the move i will go with Silver since white is too popular.......but im curious about your car! Wich model did you buy?

I bought in Laval Canada. I bought the base model in Smoky Granite.

It's a mostly downhill ride, would be similar to driving from Montpelier VT to Burlington.

Still goes to show that it's capable of matching the Prius.

I saw the CT200h at the Montreal Auto Show, and begged the Lexus Girl to allow me inside (it was cordoned off).
I'll have to give my closest Lexus dealer a call now, seems they are available in Canada now.

My only concern : SPACE

Our family are Scuba divers, with rented tanks (3), then the gear and the obligatory food cooler, will it fit? In my current G3 Prius I have been able to put four tanks and still have room to spare.

Perhaps my test drive should include cargo swapping - would most likely drive the dealer rep nuts though...

Yeah, I guess for space, you'll have to really try it out yourself for your own needs.
As for mileage, today I visited dealers in Shawinigan and Trois-rivieres, drove at 115km/hour, so didnn't drive to save fuel at all and it was mostly autoroute. I averaged 5.8l/100km, which I think is still very good. I could have gone 90km and average 5.1, but it was not today's point.
I'm very impressed with that car, the quality ride is great, I just enjoy being in my car.
Yeah highway driving at 105km/h i avereged all the time 5.5 to 5.8 on the computer dont know why i cant go lower than that......

but on second road i do 4.5! I dont really think the CT200h consume a lot more than the Prius, its more how you drive it!
Im torn, on the south shore of Montreal, they are offering me a Touring in black with some extra since they have it in stock............

but i just found that in Lexus Laval they have a Touring in silver wich would be my choice! What to do?

I still wonder if i should go with a Premium model but its a step $$$$ over the Touring model!
Got my Matador red Mica CT last night! What a head-turner. Love the smooth quiet power and gas savings. It's impressive to see the power transfer display moving from electric to gas and a combination of them. Such technology, refinement, and design at such a low and affordable price.

Whoever is hesitant on getting the CT especially if a dealer has one in stock, DON'T WAIT, they will go fast and with the crisis in Japan, my Lexus dealer said there's at least a 3-4 month wait on new orders.
Great color. Mine should be here in about 3 weeks.
