Not a good sign when the neighbor thinks you got a Mazda. Upon closer inspection, he noticed it was not and he did compliment the sharp styling, interior, and hybrid technology. Of course he probably didn't care about the hybrid part since he drives an '09 RAM w/5.7L Hemi.

Last night I also happened to park at a mall and I just so happened to be beside a Gen1 Mazda 3 Hatchback. Sadly, I can see why a non-car buff can easily mistaken a CT with a Gen 1, Mazda 3 (or even a Gen 2) from a distance as there is an overall resemblance with the front design, side profile, rear lights, and overall dimensions...

Did anyone think your new ride was a 3? Thoughts?

Believe it or not, I actually *like* the fact that the Lexus CT200h is relatively low key. I'm still in the process of shopping for a new car, but I'm 80-90% sure it will be this hybrid. I've considered the Audi A6, Q5, Mercedes C and E, Lexus GSh, Infiniti, etc., but in the end 1) the fuel economy (which is great) and 2) the fact that I can stay relatively low key and enjoy some luxury.

haha. I just moved 8 months ago! :D

I think the CT owners with the red (like myself), white, and black colors will probably have to live with this mistaken identity crisis for a while. I'd be curious to know if Fire Agate Pearl or the Daybreak Yellow Mica owners would... something tells me you guys (i.e. Audi4t) are shielded!

I'll admit that as I saw more pictures of the CT I too was thinking the very same thing, there are a number of cars that are looking very similar. The difference is in the offerings and comfort, none of those others come close to the CT.

Unfortunately, increasing world wide uniformity of car safety regulations, both for internal and crash safety plus pedestrian safety, are making it increasingly difficult for manufacturers to produce distinctive shapes!

Audi: LOL!!! What are we gonna do with you??? I busted out laughing when I read that.

Mr C: Well, at least the Mazda 3 is a good looking little ride. I really wanted one of those before they changed to the smiley face. So the CT is the best of both worlds. ;-)

CT200TX: You're probably gonna hear the word "cute" a lot from girls...rather than guys. We tend to use that term for everything. I prefer the word "cool" in reference to our CT's. Right?? hehe
