Last night, I was at an official unveiling of the CT200h at a restaurant here in Montreal. All Lexus owners who had bought in the past from the local dealer (Spinelli) were invited. Over 500 people were there. They had moved 2 CTs into the restaurant.

So in the 2.5 hours that I was there, I had a chance to take a closer look at the car. One thing that I noticed that I didn't really notice before was the antenna (it was quite long). I was thinking how much nicer a sharkfin would look. I didn't really have the chance to speak to my rep yesterday to see if it would be an option to add on some time in the future.

Any opinions on it and if it is something that can be added later on?

They are working on it

You can find a thread about it on ct200chat forum here: SharkFin Antenna - CT200h Lexus Forums Owners
I quoted the first post here:

I want to give you guys a sneak peak of what we are working on at CT200hChat.

We are working with a manufacture on getting a CT200h SharkFin Antenna to replace the current antenna on the CT200h! It will be extremely easy to install to the CT200h if all testing goes well! We are remaining optimistic here!

We will be testing the unit soon. We will try to post pictures as soon as testing begins!

We are all on the darker side of green! Thanks for being a CT200hChat Member!
We will see. Problem use to be to get a good function on a small antenna (I dont know what the standard antenna is doing, if its only for GSM/GPS or if its for radio too).

Cool! Sounds promising.

Just wondering what they mean by "effectively secured". Wouldn't you pop out the old antenna and install the new one though the pre-drilled hole(s)? I guess this would mean taking off the whole ceiling panel to install it!

Never mind, I did a bit of research on sharkfins in general and have found out that it is as simple as unscrewing off the old antenna, then threading the sharkfin wire onto the antenna base and taping the unit on with the supplied double-sided tape. Sounds simple enough. I just sent an inquiry to Virtual Garage in British Columbia to see if they have my colour available yet. $69 plus taxes plus $12 shipping.
