I'll be taking delivery of my CT beginning of next week and the car is coming with a rear bumper applique that I do not want on there. Has anyone tried to remove this and can provide any tips without damaging the paint?

1. Why do you want to remove it? DO you really want to?

2. Park car in direct sunlight or atleast the rear bumper for a bit till it gets good and hot.

3. Start lifting a corner carefully with fingernails.

4. Start pulling back parallel to the rest of the applique and not up wards

5. If theres remaining residue, wait till car cools off and use something safe for the paint to remove it like goo gone or something.

You shouldnt have remaining reside its pretty new. If its still difficult to remove just by keeping it in the sun use a hair dryer and move it around as you pull it back.

Just out of curiosity...why do you want to remove it? I am thinking about getting one. I believe it is just like the clear bra, a clear plastic cover with a small Lexus decal. Is that correct?

The other option I am considering is the stainless cover, but I've never seen one of those. One of my RX cars had a rubber cover on top. My husband ruins his bumpers tying his golf shoes. Those tiny little scratches don't seem to bother him, or so he says!

You are correct, it is like clear bra but says Lexus, it really isn't very noticeable I'm leaving it on because I want the added protection.

Thanks for the tips. If the dealer doesn't remove it, I'll have to try it.

I want to remove it, because I really dislike any stickers on my car. IMO it looks a little tacky having a sticker that has the name there.

Is your car still coming into the port or has it left the port and on the truck to the dealer. If it is still arriving into the port your dealer can ask that it not be installed, since it is a port installed option.

I just got my ct200h and the dealer I worked with was able to remove a few port installed accessories with no problem.
