What do you all think are the odds of a change for the green background of the radio for the 2012 model year? Visually it is just terrible looking at the climate control and radio aesthetics together...

My radio is not the same as that (does not have the screen) but I don't mind the green buttons at night.

P.s. Why have you got tape on the steering wheel ?

Not my car.. I have not bought yet. If you have NAV you won't have this radio.

my first idea was the same - what a ugly green radio backlight... But, if you take a closer look you will find that a lot of interior elements has similar green light:
- green indicators on dash panel
- green light in door buttons
and so on...

So, just try to relax, it's a good and harmony car =)

Who knows...
Anyway it's not so hard to change the color:
- dismount radio head unit (howtoo in toyota EPC system)
- disassembly the unit and change the LEDs using soldering tool

i think it's 10-15$ for new LEDs and ~5hours of work

if i'm not mistaken, i think my 2011 is already that green colour! i will have to reconfirm this afternoon!

And sidenote - LOVE the alcantara. Do 2012s come with three seating options: nuluxe, leather, AND alcantara pacakages? Or does the alcantara replace the full leather option?

The tape was there from an early prototype I think.. this is NOT my photo, I just borrowed the link to show the contrast between radio and climate control.

I agree, make the radio and air con displays look the same.. Tacky outdated look otherwise!
