So I have finally decided on the CT200h... easy choice.

Prius starts at nearly 28,000K here anyways, so why not just pay the premium for lexus :D

I am still debating between the black and grey mica, but will likely only pick up the base model. It will be a cash purchase, and the sale of my car now will likely cover the entire amount of the base CT... so why bother entering into a monthly payment that's not necessary. I can't justify paying the $8,400 for Nav, geniune leather, LED lights, moonroof, etc. The only thing I care about is NAV (having in-dash voice activated NAV in my car now, it has been hard to swallow that 8,400 is not worth the in-dash nav when I don't care about anything else).

Well, now that everyone knows my life story I can say hello and thanks for having me ;)!

You'd be waiting a mighty long time for those options anyhow so you're probably doing yourself a favor by just going with the base model. Congrats on making the decision to pull the trigger!

Welcome SCT1984. Have to say though that the wait up here in Canada will probably be just as long for the base; there were very few of them in the first batch and the CTs still hanging around at dealerships are generally Tech package (the thrift of Canadians showing here). I am on 16 weeks of waiting for a Touring as of tomorrow.

Totally agree with you about the Prius in Canada - why on earth would you not go for the better-looking, Lexus-badged, cushier interior, sharper-handling CT for about the same price? The wait will just make delivery even sweeter.

Yes i do know where is Brampton! I have a 2010 Prius Touring, i love it but i am selling it to get the Lexus, the Prius is way more practical but im young without familly so i am going for Lexus, but still cant place a order for a Touring because dealership is waiting to see if if they have to order a 2012, so far shopping for a CT200h is very disapointing...I would love the Premium but at this price i would choose something else.....

We had different packages here in Australia and I had originally thought of going for the base model but I really wanted built in NAV and a few other bits (when you have had your car broken in to when you have left nothing in the car except for the gps bracket you kind of want built in) and the NAV option does a few other things to.

The dealers here had brought in a load of base models with added sun roof and leather which bumped the price right up and still no NAV ! So not really a base model

Is was not so fussed about the sun roof or leather at the time it's more tech I'm into, then I went to another Lexus dealer and they had an F-Sport sitting there !!! No sun roof perfect all the gadgets and options and virtually no price difference to the bumped up base model price adding the NAV !

Never had leather before but now I love it.

wow - 16 weeks! This is why I am hoping to just not be too picky with colours and see what base models are available in the near future. One dealer mentioned he's getting a few cars in about 4 weeks delivered and showed me their database - nothing interested me at the time, but hopefully if I call every dealership in Ontario, a black on black base model will pop up lol.

As I stated, every month I wait is about $450 down the drain. It is certainly disappointing to hear about the situation, however, 2 cars ago, I purchased a 2003 mazda3 4 door and even though it was a "pre-packaged" model, I still had to wait 8 weeks. This must be fairly typical of new models.

Its kind of too bad for you that you're ordering the car in Canada. In the US, the NAV package is available on a model that is only $3000 above base price. In the US, features like memory seats, leather and rain sensing wipers cost the really big bucks.

I Canada, the NAV package is top of the line, and the other features are available in the lower-end models ... at a much more reasonable price. This works our well for my wife and I. We wanted memory seats, rear camera and rain sensing wipers, but don't care much about NAV ... and we can get that package. :)

Of course, we're in never-ending wait mode too. :(

I know, so jealous. Even after taxes and import fees (6.1% since the car's made in japan), total is about $42,000 with NAV from the US dealer. But you don't get leather, LED lighting, and probably a few other stupid options that they just throw in there... I don't really care too much about geniune leather or LED lighting, but the NAV package for $3500 is such a better option that $8,400 for a bunch of stuff I don't care about!

apparently though, the US Lexus dealers won't sell to anyone who does not have a US address and US insurance coverage. Still out of my price point, but still.
