Placed my special order today. 8-12+ weeks is gonna suck, but I don't care. This is how I want the car. It will be one of (if not the only) CT with these options/deletes seeing. No CT has been delivered with Leather and no Nav/Sound in any production month to date.

Starfire Premium

LP- Black leather package
Li- LED headlamp's
Remote start
Premium floor mats

No nav, no premium sound (My friend owns a car audio shop and wants to do something special for it :) )

Another example of a leather package, ordered *without* premium audio.

The Lexus site clearly says for our region to order leather, you have to buy the premium audio.

Yep. It's a "special order through dealer only" option.... or rather delete, or whatever you want to call it.
Congrats Alex! I knew you wouldn't be able to wait. he-he
alright! let us know when it arrives!
Congratulations!

The wait will be the most painful. You will appreciate the leather seats. The LED headlamps are definitely a plus. I love mine. They illuminate the road better than the standard headlamps. Post pictures of the car when the car arrives.

Congrats on the order...I ordered mine about 10 days ago...min is a little different as well...LED's on Starfire but with the Nuluxe caramel....I don't know why they don't offer that color in leather...it's beautiful. I used to have that same color in leather in an Audi A6 back in 2005...with the black door panels and trim looks awesome.+1 on the LED headlamps...they are expensive but look to be well worth it especially if you plan on keeping the car for a few years. Here in Florida (not sure about the rest of the country but probably so) in two years, the backup camera is going to be a requirement on all cars......you won't be able to buy a new car without it (part of my logic for getting NAV now). The good news is that although they say in limited #'s, production will resume on CT's starting next Monday. I hope they fill orders first rather than producing cars for dealer inventory...anyone know the priority as far as this goes?

Thanks guys. I'm pretty excited about it. I'm ok with the wait as I was not planning to purchase until June anyway, so it works out perfect.

I would have loved to option it to the moon, but the budget won that fight. My friends have some other ideas in mind for it anyway including a factory location double din that will display factory vehicle functions, but with aftermarket navigation, WiFi hotspot and Google street view. Their already working trying to get the interface module that the factory NAV car uses. These guys are geniuses, so I'm sure they'll have it before my car arrives.

Wow, that sounds very interesting!

It will be :)

If they succeed and make it marketable, I'm sure they'll sell a lot. It will be a way to get Nav/interface/Ipod/XM/etc into the factory location, keep the clean dash, and make it affordable all in one.

Even if it never works, I can't wait for my car :D

LOL... You are tooo funny!! Well, I hope it works. Definitely keep everyone posted.

How much is replacement cost of those LED's?
Sure, they look nice and practical, take less energy but my only concern is how much will it cost user to replace them if they control unit burns. I don't think we can buy components from a local auto-parts store for a long time if ever.
Nothing last forever :-/

The Lexus site clearly says for our region to order leather, you have to buy the premium audio.

For standard build production, for normal dealer inventory, yes, the only way to get leather is to also have the premium audio.

However, if you are willing to wait the 12 weeks or more, you can special order it how you wish. Unfortunately Lexus is unlike a domestic manufacture like Ford or Chevy where you can easily pick the options you want and see it in 1/3 the time Lexus will take. Lexus chooses to "Value Package" the car. Basically, they will offer the car with only a few optional equipment levels for standard production. Manufacturing costs are reduced by limiting the number of variations.

From a sales point of view, I dislike this. On other Lexus models, there are features that the only way you can get them is if you special order the car with it. For instances...Lexus offers the dynamic radar cruise control with pre-collision system...it's a great feature. Unfortunately, the only way you will get it on most models, is too special order it. (Fortunately, they actually ARE building some CT's with the dynamic radar cruise/PCS) Another example is the "Heads up" display for the RX350. Customers will sometimes ask to see what the Heads Up display looks like in the RX. I have to tell them that he only way they can see one is if they special order the car & wait 12 weeks. Why even bother offering these items if you arent going to make them more readily available?

I ordered a 2011 in April that now will come in October as a 2012. My dealer in Wisconsin told me that there are not any pre-collision systems available even with a custom order. Could this be the case?
