Phone contacts displayed on non-Nav CT?

I have a Blackberry Bold and am wondering if contacts are displayed on the CT dash (radio/HVAC display?) when placing a call on a non-Nav CT. And any particular button(s) to press in the car to view my contacts?

On the non Nav vehicle (which I have) your phone book doesn't automatically transfer to the vehicle.

You can input contacts one at a time.

I did this using the voice input option which is fairly easy and permits initiating a call by voice.

You can establish 6 speed dial numbers, buttons 1 thru' 6 on the radio. These numbers display on the radio when you select one.

I don't know if you initiate a call by voice (non speed dial) if this number displays on the radio, it's my wife's car I'll try and check tonight.
I have an iPhone 4 in the UK with the non-nav vehicle.

I don't want to enter my 200 contacts into the car one by one.

Is there another way?

Just picked mine up last Friday :) Mesa Red.

I have the iPhone 4 too.

Apparently vehicles with NAV will download the phones contacts/phonebook from the iPhone.

I guess this is because with the NAV screen you can select the person to call on the screen, without the need to record a name which would allow you to initiate "Voice Dial - by Name".

But not the non NAV vehicles. I've tried 3 times. This actually makes sense since there is no display on the non-NAV vehicle to show your contacts and then make a selection. The owners manual implies you can download your contacts but how would you select them?

Vehicles without Nav don't have a way to display contacts / numbers other than numbers stored in speed dial.

However, it is possible to store contacts by voice recording - that is you record individual names and the associated phone number for each contact.

Then you can dial by voice simply by initiating the call as "dial by name".

I'm in the same boat - it's pretty laborious inputting all the names from my contact list. And I will probably input a few people at a time.

I will say the voice recognition in the Lexus is very good - way better that the system in my BMW.

Its a shame because on my non-nav it does show the phone number on the stereo display e.g. +4411223344556. If it could only resolve that to the phonebook in the phone, that would be ace.
My BMW didn't have navigation and I was able to download all my contacts from my iPhone 4. The names appeared on the screen of your radio. Now with my new CT I can't seem to do the same. I really need to get my contacts downloaded. Any advise?
Does anyone know if it one with nav will download contacts from a Droid?

Droid operating system is changed by each telephone manufacturer so you can't always just say yes to this sort of question. What I do know is I have the HTC Google phone and the Motorola Milestone 1 and 2 and all of them sucessfully transferred the contacts.

Hope this helps.
My HTC Evo 4g also downloads successfully into the CT.
