Here's a list from Cars.com which shows 'movers" and "losers" lists. The number after the model is the number of days average a new car model is on a dealers lot from the day it arrives to the dealer to the day the paperwork by a buyer is signed. Look who's number one in March....so proud of the CT200h

i'm sure lexus is frustrated because they can't get enough over here. if you miss the window of opportunity, the demand kind of fizzles out and people start to look elsewhere.

Exactly, I've already started looking elsewhere because I can't find a CT like what I want and dealers are not being helpful by trading out cars, etc. it's every dealer for themselves. I'm not calling every Lexus dealer in the country to try to find what I want, not waiting 6 months or more for a car to be built so I'll probably buy something else. It's funny I get emails once a week from a local dealer telling me they still don't know their CT allocation yet but as soon as they do they'll contact me. Nice to know they haven't forgotten about me, but really not helpful to email me and tell me they have nothing to tell/sell me.
Lexus got caught a tough spot. The CT200 was released just when the giant earthquake hit Japan and disrupted the supply chain of vehicles. Also the car has a broader appeal than they figured, attracting 30-60 year old customer and not just the 30-40 year old crowd. Escalating gas prices at the same time pushed more people into considering the CT200h if they wanted something with more of an edge than the Prius. I bought a Starfire Pearl off the lot, not that it was my primary color choice, but it had the options I wanted (Navigation, Premium Sound). If i quibbled that I wanted caramel interior and not the black Nu-Lux I think I would have a long wait. I did not want to wait 6 months more. It all depends how particular you are and what your patience level is.
