I picked up my car on Saturday and today when driving home from work the car in front of me (one lane over) kicked up something that hit the nose of my car. In truth, I swear it looked like a lug nut flew off his tire and hit the nose, but I assume it was just a rock coming from under the tire.

It appears to have hit the silverish plastic and the surrounding plastic. I was a bit surprised that most of the front was plastic, but the gashes/chips all appear to look like damaged plastic.

I tried to take a picture, but my phone doesn't do a very good job in low light. I'll try to get a picture with a regular camera too.

Any suggestions on ways to fix this? Some kind of product to fill in the gashes/chips with?

It is all fairly minor, at least it appeared that way while sitting in my garage without much light. Hopefully it won't look worse in the daylight.

There might be a shop in your area that specializes in bumper repair, try google on "bumper repair" + your zip code.

This was my new 2006 Prius damage, 2 weeks from new, and less than 1200 miles. It cost over $1300 (insurance paid, less deductable) It needed a new bumper cover, foglight, lower grille, and repaint to bumper and door. This was due to a flying truck tire tread.

Later I had to have the windshield replaced and bumper repainted again due to gravel flying debris from a gravel truck. Grrr.

So far, so good on the CT, since August. Sorry about yours. I feel your pain. :(

Well, after washing the area and looking at it in better light, it isn't really that bad. It sucks that it happened after just 2 days, but it isn't bad enough for me to feel the need to fix it. In fact, if I hadn't seen it happen, I probably wouldn't have noticed it until the first time I hand washed the bumper area.
