Yesterday, I got a call from Lexus Corporate. The lady thanked me for buying the CT and asked me how I liked it. We chatted for a bit and then she gave me the reason for calling.

- Did I get the accessory holder? (Yes)
- Am I using it? (No)
- If so, do I like it? (Don't like it, don't use it)
- If not, why not? (Don't like the idea of a big plastic arm sticking out of the console, plus I have the NAV, so why would I want to look at my iPod or phone? Plus, I've re-routed the USB jack so it's now in my cubby.)

Then we exchange pleasantries and she was gone.
dgstan,

Iam deciding where I want to re-route the USB jack - like into the console and/or glove box, and/or the bottom of the slot where the accessory holder goes. Before I do it, I was wondering if someone has come up with as more elegant approach than what I can come up with. I was intrigued by your message that you re-routed your USB jack into the "cubby"? (I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "cubby," though). Would you care to share details of exactly what you did (pictures would be nice, too)? Ideally I want to come up with a nice way to install an iPhone docking fitting somewhere so I can just stick the phone somewhere w/o having to plug up cables or have exposed wires.

I like the holder for the iPhone. It adjusts for other size phones. It does block the seat warmer controls that is inconvenient.
I am using the aux headphone jack from the iPhone to the input jack to better control music selections, directly off my iPhone playlists.
When I use the USB port I get a blank screen on my iPhone that says "accessory connected." I haven't figured out if there is a way to scroll through my playlists.
Does anybody know the way to use the Navigation system screen to control the music on an iPhone or iPod?
Thanks.

Yes. Read the audio/visual section 7 of the manual starting on page 263.

When my 10 year old and his friend sat in the CT for the first time, they thought the accessory holder was the car's coolest feature. Personally, I find the design clever, but because of where it sits, I found myself banging into it when accessing controls, so I'm not using it on a regular basis.
