Just picked up a CT200h and also a new Lexus customer. The car is the base model, no navigation or added electronics. My other car... An (18 MPG) E92 M3, all options and performance package. The ecobox, fuel saving hybrid experience is very new for me. I'm still learning and adjusting so I can't give an honest review yet. I've only hit 130 miles on the odometer. Unfortunately... The MPG seems slow to calculate or calibrate. Currently reading 33.5 and seems to be climbing. Is this normal during the break-in period?

my other question is regarding oil change intervals. I've searched the forums but couldn't find the answer. The Lexus recommendation is 10k, and the first is scheduled at 5k per delivery paperwork. For the DYI guys... How did the filter and oil appear at 10k. Has anyone sent had an oil analysis testing or sent off to Blackstone labs? Preventive maintenance is very important to me.

I have a '12 and the first 2 dealership free service was at 5k , where they did a inspection and tire rotation. They won't change the oil until 10k , unless that has change. I'm also a DIY car maintenance advocate and changed my oil at about 7k. The oil was very dark and smell very smoky, I wish I had changed it earlier, maybe at 4-5 k, being new. I know some folks say that is not necessary but a DIY oil change is just a $30 cheap insurance. I'm going to be changing at 7k interval from now on. My other car is a '93 Volvo with 220k and have always changed the oil at 3-4k interval so I know that good preventative maintainace is important.

Your MPG should improve as you learn how to squeeze the mileage with simple techniques like early coasting, light early braking, etc. Search hypermiling to see how others are doing it.

Congrats on your new CT and give us a review how it compares to the M3.

Thanks for the reply! After reading other threads and doing some homework, I plan on changing the oil before the Lexus recommended 10k intervals.

and give us a review how it compares to the M3.
Haha... Like comparing apples to oranges! I still haven't spent much time behind the wheel to give an honest review. All I can say is I like the smell ;)
