Does anyone know if you can dim the navigation screen at night it's quite bright and I've tried looking through the book but can't find out if its possible, but then it has been a long day and the CT is now tucked in to bed in the garage for the night.

This is on p.37 of the Nav. manual:
Changing between day mode and night model. Depending on the position of the headlight switch, the screen changes to day mode or night mode.
To display the screen in day mode even with the headlight switch on, select
“Day Mode” on the adjustment screen for brightness and contrast control.
If the screen is set in day mode with the headlight switch turned on, this condition is memorized in the system even with the
hybrid system turned off. If the instrument panel light control switch
is turned fully to upper, the displays condition is not changed to night mode
even if headlight switch is turned on.

I second that. The basic premise is, on the left side of your steering wheel, there is a gauge cluster brightness control wheel close to where your side mirror adjustment switches are. Just flip the wheel down one click. When it hits nighttime and your cars headlamps switch on automatically, the nav screen will black out into night mode.

I had the same trouble too! I just picked up my car today and boy was it ever bright when I was driving at night. I'm going to try to find that 'gauge'. I'm not too sure what that looks like, I'm not very technical/mechanical with these boy toys. Wish me luck! haha

The dashboard light switch is a little thumbwheel just below and to the R of your steering wheel (on a R hand drive car).

On the side of your nav control (the mouse thing on the central console) there are 3 buttons. 2 long ones either side which function the same as a mouse button, and a smaller one facing the driver at the rear end of the bulge. Pressing this will access the nav screen brightness, contrast and on/off function.

Hi MssLee - there's a little roller type adjuster for the dashboard lights which adjusts the brightness.

If that's set to maximum, the navigation doesn't change to night pallette and it doesn't dim ... If you click it just off its maximum, then you'll be able to get night colours on Nav :)

I think the headlights have to be set to Auto as well to make that happen. Took a bit of hunting in the manual for me to find that one :)

Hopefully ... this link will work :)
http://drivers.lexus.com/t3Portal/document/om/OM76004U/pdf/sec_02-02.pdf
(Lexus manuals site and it's the "Instruments Cluster" part of the manual)

Johnleigh and I are both UK Right Hand Drive owners, so you want to swap those directions around a little. Page 3 of the link will hopefully have the picture of what you're looking for, it'll be on the left hand side of the steering wheel for the left hand drive car.

What's not obvious in the manual without a deep read is that it disables night pallette and dimming of navigation if the dial is set to maximum ...

On Remote Touch, I think it's the DISP button that brings up brightness option quickly ... (going off memory there as I haven't used that button much)

Link to where you can see the manuals online : https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/info/my-lexus/resources/owners-manual-search.do
(it's a little quirky, might have to go to the Bluetooth Compatibility page and then back to Owner's Manuals to make it work)

PS And after a few minutes looking, I have no clue now where I found the bit about night pallette !

I only found out about night mode being disabled by turning dash illumination to maximum through this forum.
