Multi-Information Display Changes (w/Nav)

Has anyone had this little problem?
I usually set the M.I.D. to show the current fuel consumption. But a strange thing is happening - the display will change by itself to another screen, like to the energy monitor without me touching or pressing the steering wheel display button.
I notice this more after the car has been turned off, but sometimes it will happen when the car is operating.
I don't think it's a bad button on the steering wheel - if it was a bad contact or something, you would think the display would go to the next one in sequence, not backwards.
Any ideas?

I have noticed that if I am on fuel consumption it will change to Energy Monitor if I engage EV mode.
display also changes when cruise control selected.
On the non-nav models, when you switch to EV, it scrolls to the "engine/wheel/battery" display.

Seriously why does Lexus even have the "engine/wheel/battery" display because no one ever uses it. ??

That's the display we use all the time. Don't use average and instantaneous mpg display.

Not a big fan of this setup. I suppose with time I'll become less enamored with looking at the information display, but for now I don't like having to reset it after setting the cruise.
When I switch to radio view after a few moments it will go back to consumption screen. What gives?
