Hi All,

Has anyone removed the 12V port flap or done any other mod to allow the center console door to close with these ports in use?

I'm a bit OCD about my car. One complaint I have is that the 12V/USB/AUX port cover has to stay open during use.

I bought a Griffin Dualjolt USB charger for the 12V port because I thought I would be able to close the cover when the cable was not plugged in and I would only need to open the cover when I needed to charge. It didn't work because the 12v flap prevents the top cover from closing even if its barely lifted.

I removed mine and relocated it to the glove box so I didn't have to see my iPod cable. I'm like you and that port being there open drived me crazy.

I can't speak for the AUX port or the 12V power outlet. But there is no mod necessary to use a USB flash drive and keep the door closed. You just need to get the right USB drive. This is the one that I use:
