Lexus CT-F 416hp V8 sports car, would it sell?

So I'm enjoying a little down time this past Thanksgiving weekend, driving to my holiday dinner. I see a Mitsubishi Evo, a Subaru WRX, a Mazdaspeed, BMW M3 and began thinking more about pure horsepower and less about MPG's. (Don't worry, only for a second!)

What If Lexus dropped the IS-F 416HP V-8 into a CT complete with upgraded suspension, 8-speed paddle shifters, Brembo's etc. etc. would it sell?

Hummmmmmm.....

I think the market for that would be VERY small and they wouldn't sell.

big engine, small car has been done before, and there are much better looking cars out there like that.
IMO car purchase is 80% looks, and then 20% the rest, especially when dropping a lot of money on a car.
Benz believes theres a market for it (upcomming 2013/14 A45 AMG), so its not as far fetched as it seems. But considering how Lexus markets the CT, possibility of them doing is close to 1% or even 0%. The IS is a compact size itself (I consider anything smaller then the avg family sedan on the market is small, ex Camry), if anything "Small, Fun and power" is considered, itll be for that line.

That said, with the rumors of a turbo 4cly hybrid for the next generation IS, that'll be a great drivetrain to drop it into the CT line and possibly make the new "CT-F". Fun, stylish, fuel efficient is exactly what Lexus wants for the CT, plus a turbo
This is not Europe. Apparently sedans are more popular here. I see lots of Focus and Fiesta sedans out there, and it makes me wonder if the hatchback cost that much more? I mean, compared to the hatchback, those specific sedans look absolutely hideous to me.

I guess it's just a matter of personal taste, and the cost to cool factor.
Maybe I went a little overboard with the V-8, how about a F-Sport tuned version Scion FR-S Flat-4 boxer drivetrain?
I had an isf at one point, ithink it would be pretty cool to put a big motor in a ct, maybe not the v8 version but maybe like an IS350 motor?

But yet somehow they would make it have amazing mpg! Lol that would be sweet!

Or maybe if they brought back inline 6 on is300 but into the CT and made a bit more hp and tq eith like lets say added hybrid power mixed! That would awesome!!!!!

There are so many competitors out there with small 5 doors hatchback super sport cars. If Lexus wants to take a share in the market, they would have to do something different. Maybe a hybrid that add horsepower instead of saving fuel. A CT 350HX or something... it will be a 4 wheels drive 375 horsepower 0-60 around 5.5 sec and still have average MPG around 30MPG! :p

I'd buy one!
