Just got our 200CT!

Howdy all,

Just got our RED CT 200 with upgraded sound. It came with a backup camera in rear view mirror (which is really cool) and Caramel leather. We picked it up on Friday and have been zooming, coasting and loving the new ride. So far on the first 50 miles I am sitting at 41 MPG (I came from a 06' Honda Civic Hybrid) and the MPG's are steadily on the way up.

I have been impressed with the pick up, you will not get run over in this car (the Civic was a death trap). The upgraded sound is nice but could be better. We are in Austin Texas and it has been very HOT (105F) but the leather breathes very well, I would kill for a cooling seat option (heated seats, in TEXAS! WTH!).

We had the dealer do the tinted windows from Lexus and they are sweet. Even with our heat in Texas the car is bearable when you get into it (can't say the same for the Civic).

Anyway I am loving the car and the wife is loving it too. Anyone have experience with the extended warranty or prepaid maintenance? Is it worth it?

Nice color combo. I love my caramel interior (I have the Nuluxe though). Yeah, I wasn't overly impressed with the premium audio upgrade either, coming from a Bose premium audio system in my last car, this one is a bit lacking IMO.

There's a bunch of other Texans on here, I'm sure they'll chime in and welcome you as well. Congrats on the CT!

I did not do extended warranty, given this technology has been around for so long with the Prius, but I did end up doing up the 60K pre-paid maintenance given it was 50% cheaper to do that up front vs. paying at the dealer each time (not sure how was that was though), so I'm covered up to 70K given the 10K once is included already. Did you get either?

At the time of sale we did not get any options but my wife is going to call in and get the prepaid maintenance on Monday. I have it on on another car and I like it.

It was nice to head down I35 today to the Austin Salsa festival cruising at 65 and watching the current MPG bounce between 60 and 90 the whole way (that is with the radio up and the AC blasting full force).

Gotta love it!

congratzz on new car!!! u have the caramel leather??? umm... i think it is a nuluxe cuz leather comes in black or silver and not avail with car w/o nav

You seem to have an options combination that are not normally available in the US. Backup camera without NAV display? Caramel leather?

How did you come by your CT? Was it a special order?

The backup camera is avilable in the rear view mirror if you have the upgraded audio system.

The backup camera is available in the following regions by itself (well, it comes with illuminated door sills and the cargo net):

Mountain Region -- Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Wyoming
Pacific Northwest Region -- Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana

This applies to the 2011, not sure about 2012. In other regions, if you want it by itself, you'll need to special order.

Yow - if you have the Canadian Premium package don't you have the autodimming rear view mirror with backup camera in it? I thought it was in this package but only saw the technology package (demo) and touring (mine).

Yes I had to go look at the window sticker but I do have Nulux. The dealer said the backup camera in rear view was new and the first one he has seen (he did not expect it in the 2011's).
I got on the wait list 3 weeks ago after test driving one and basically got lucky. Dealer took delivery of 10 CT's on Friday and 8 were presold. They had a silver and black one on Friday and he thought they would not make the weekend.

My Canadian Premium version has the backup camera display in the mirror. Works really well ... love it

Until recently, US CTs could only be equipped with a backup camera if they already had a NAV unit installed. The backup camera would never display in the mirror.

This seems to have changed.

Our american friends can now order a CT that has a backup camera but no NAV unit.

I would love Caramel NuLux in my car. I wonder if it will ever be made available in Canada.

Not sure how long ago this changed - but you are correct it is available. I test drove one at the dealer last week and it had this option equipped.

Wow. Yet another option that's different per region. I really don't understand the meaning behind that...what did they do, put the states names into a hat and randomly draw them?

I have a 2011 red 200 ct with tan interior and I love it. I like that it will zoom around in sport but I am getting about 48 miles per gallon on my work and weekly commute, amazing!

I really like the suspension but not crazy about the noise from the low profile tires.

Great car! Fun to drive. I get a lot of comments.
