I was driving away from a parking lot today with 3 passengers and there was a speed bump... I drove over it very slowly - may be 5 mph not faster, but still touched the ground - heard some noise. I am wondering if the bottom of the car is protected? I tried to touch it and it feels like there is a plastic cover, but I am not sure. Also it feels like there are "ribs" on the sides. There is no indication of any damage, so I am thinking - when you touch a bump at very low speeds, may be you just scratch the ground by those ribs or the cover?

It is a plastic cowl for aerodynamics not protection. But being flexible palstic what you did, probably didn't hurt anything either.
