Hey guys, I am new to this forum and just last night I picked up a Premium ct200h in Fire Agate Pearl. I love my new Lexus! However I am crazy and can't stand the interior dome/courtesy lights that are halogen. I would like to order my new LED's as quickly as possible. In the owners manuel it does not give the bulb number only what type of bulbs they are. Does anyone know what type of bulbs I will require to replace the dome/map/courtesy/trunk lights so I can order my cool white interior upgrade to make this even more Lexus like. I already verified with Sylvannia and they are of no help at all. Thanks for any help and its great to be part of a quickly developing forum.

Did you ever manage to change these, interested in doing this but need some help removing the dome light and centre passenger light, so any information would be useful, pictures if possible, thanks.

Hey Chunky I changed the interior lights in mine & my husband's. I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say. ;-)

Map lights: Use butter knife to gently pry down the front of the clear cover light on front side (closest to the windshield) The entire cover will pop off. The pry side has little slits that snap into place when done. Line up slit and snap cover back on when done.

Backseat dome: Use butter knife. Sit in back seat and face forward. Start about 1” over from left side on back edge of domelight. (back edge meaning the edge closest to hatch) Gently poke tip of butter knife between the clear light cover & plastic trim and gently pry until clear cover pops off. Do not pry in the plastic trim only. (you’ll see what I’m talking about) Knife must be between the clear cover & trim. Note: The entire cover will pop off.

Hope this helps.... ;-)

Well all I can say is thank you. The butter knife and your instructions worked a treat. Have replaced some and ordered those I didn't have. Looks much nicer than those yellowish bulbs Lexus fit. Now just need to work out how to change the puddle lights.

You are very welcome Chunky. ;-) I am soooo glad you found a butter knife. (that was hilarious) I'm glad you were able to figure out what I was talking about. Yes, the white lights look awesome. The license plate light is a must too. ;-)

Yeah, I wish I could figure out the puddle lights. They looks soooo cool bright white. I saw several pics of the bright puddle lights on the IS forum. In fact, I read about 30 pages of posts about their puddle lights because thought they were the same lights. I was on a mission! Only to find out they were different... very different.

Oh well... we'll figure it out...right? ;-)

Hey Gurl - nice job.

I'm proud of you !
LOL! Thanks Audi. I'm learning from the best!! ;)

Jimmy: Sorry, I missed your PM. I just checked my in box and I didn't see it. I was telling someone else that the thread titled "bulb reference" by JBLACK lists all the bulb types. It's very helpful. I ordered all my LEDS from Superbrightleds.com

I used to own a 250 and did the replacement on the puddle lights, a simple task once you built up the courage! am going to see if the mirrors on the CT are held together in the same way, if they are then I should be able to do it, and I already have the down facing LED's as I bought two spares when I did the IS. Will keep you posted............

All internal lighting now changed except the pesky trunk light, it has such a small festoon bulb in it. The one I purchased is just slightly too long, meaning the on / off switch doesn't work. Need to trawl the web and see if I can get a 28mm version.

Also, be careful if you are replacing the licence plate bulbs, do not buy anything that is too long, as it will hit the top of the housing and you will not get it to fit. Just a word of warning.

Now, off to have a look at the puddle lights...........

Had a look at changing the puddle lights, not an easy task, you can just about reach 2 of the screws but the other 2, no chance without popping the mirror off, which I was not brave enough to do.

I think I will leave this one for someone braver than me, I was hoping they would be similar to the IS250, turns out they are not.

Come on guys and gals anyone tempted more than me to have a go, these are now the only yellow (meant to be white) lights left on my car and I already have the downward facing LEDS.............

With the license plate bulbs I replaced mine with the down-facing bulbs that I used in the side mirrors of my IS250....look great.

When you say "puddle lights" are you referring to the down-facing lights in the underside of the side mirrors?

Has anybody worked out how to safely crack these open to get at the the bulbs?
