This looks awesome. I'm interested in doing this to mine as well. I do have a sunroof, so I'll probably go with a kit around 400 pcs.
I'm trying to figure out how far forward to do the star light kit. I was going to stop right before I could see them in the driver seat. Is that too short? I was concerned if I was driving the light might be distracting at night. How far back did you go into the headliner? Do you have more pictures? Finally decided to install the twinkle star light kit I bought from AliExpress to my car.
I got the twinkle star light engine (roughly £40 on AliExpress), and bought the 500 optic fibre cables that were 200m in length and 0.75 diameter per thread (roughly £40 on AliExpress).
Bought pliers tools to help me remove my headliner, handles, and light covers. Bloody hell that was tough, especially removing the cables that was taped/glued to my headliner. Do make sure you take pictures of everything before removing stuff, so you know how to put it back together.

Once headliner removed, it was time to poke 500 holes through my headliner, to feed all these cables through. I used "upholstery pins (2 inch size)" to create the hole. Heard drilling holes could damage your headliner.

Now came the most difficult process, which was putting the headliner back into my car. then snipped 500 cables with a nail clipper, and boom my car looks so gorgeous at night.

I put my star light engine at the rear back of my car, it fitted nicely into this corner here:

When you want the "twinkle" effect on, the engine motor will rotate making some noise. So I wanted to put it in the back to avoid hearing it. Bought an extension cable, so I can hardwire this into my fuse box. Have it switched on with the engine of course so I don't have to keep turning on/off this myself. You can of course just fit this on top of your headliner. I would recommend where you have that big block of foam pad in the headliner, you place it right next to there and use tape to ensure it doesn't slip off. Because thats where it would create a space. If you put it elsewhere you will see a bit of a lump in your headliner.
I have my lights installed just before where the visor is (folded up). It currently does not get in the way of my eye vision at all.I'm trying to figure out how far forward to do the star light kit. Is it annoying to use your rear view mirror with the lights on? It looks like you stopped on the headliner before the upward curve in the trunk.
I wanna make sure there's aren't any obstructions before I commit to this project.
Thanks for the pictures. That looks really good. How many pieces is that? I have a sunroof. I was considering getting around 400 pcs. Do you know which brand you bought? Here are some more pictures of the installed lights:

Yes you're correct I stopped on the headliner before the upward curve, this is because sometimes I carry big items and they tend to hit that bend corner. If I had my lights installed there it will probably just either scratch my stuff or i will hit the cable where it might break/come off.

When it gets darker you defintively start to see the reflection off the lights in the rear window. So yes it can be distracting at night but for me I have limousine tint all around the back, so my rear mirror is useless already at night.
500 pieces, yeah if you have a sunroof 400 sounds good. Wouldn't go lower, you would be surprised just how many fibre optic cable you will use up to cover an area. Thanks for the pictures.
