While deciding whether or not to put HIDs into my CT when it arrives I read through the forum and saw that a lot of folks have put HIDs into their CT. I ALSO saw though that seemingly several people also have problems with their HIDs not firing up consistently or having other odd lighting artifacts. A few folks have installed harness kits w/ relays to see if it fixes the issue but I haven't seen follow ups.

For those of you who's installed HIDs are they now working OK? Did you have to tweek them or add harnesses to get them to work? Any inconsistencies?

I'd love to have HIDs but I'm not willing to deal with headlights turning off or not turning on or flickering while I'm driving so I'm curious how folks are doing with this option.

I installed the kit in my wife's car about a month ago. Since then the drivers side didn't fire just once within the first week. Hasn't happened since. I've ordered the relay harness in case it happens again.

I won't install it unless the problem repeats, but for $65 the hid kit is definitely a worthwhile investment

The improvement in lighting is tremendous.

Any problems with the car reporting that a headlight is out?

I'm looking at a 35W 4500K kit from DDM. No one seems to report much difference in light output between the 35 and 55W kits. Thoughts?

The difference between 35W and 55W is somewhat subjective more watts gives more intensity / brightness since some of that additional power has to manifest itself not only as heat but also additional photons.

The Ct doesn't employ a CAN bus system like BMW's which monitors for lights out.

As far as I know a light out will not trigger a code or a light out warning on the Ct.

It did not when it occurred the one time.

No more issues on my end with the ballast firing up. I am very happy with my choice of getting them. With the price, you really can't go wrong...if they do turn out to be crap after 2 years, can always replace them under warranty or easily remove them all together.
