Welcome.. I'm from the Central Coast, but driving my CT down to LA tomorrow to have a few things looked at.. beep if you see me... I still haven't seen one on the road yet... Mine at the dealer was the only one I've set eyes on...
I'm in Orange County. I haven't bought yet, I'm waiting for the 2012's. :)
HI! Welcome to the family! I'm in Sherman Oaks, CA. 818, but originally from 909, Diamond Bar, CA. Went to Troy HS in Fullerton, CA 714.

Work in Long Beach, CA 562.

LOL. I'm all over the place. Look for me! My plates match my screen name. Give me a BIG LOUD honk and a thumbs up if you see me! I'll probably be rockin' out to music...in traffic.
Hello, I'm in Culver City. Welcome! I'd be interested in your mileage experience. I keep seeing people reporting 40+ mpg without any change in driving style. I'm getting 36-38 mpg in "normal" mode and trying very hard to drive more economically. But I'm getting walked all over by other drivers here on the west side! I got 44 mpg driving back from Temecula one Sunday night, but that's the best I've done. I wonder if the ethanol content of our CA gas is reducing the fuel economy, or if I'm just unwilling to drive passively enough to get the 40+ mpg that everyone else does? It probably doesn't help that my commute is only 6 miles (one way).
Your mpg is going to depend on how many times you have to stop and start n your 6 mile trip. I drive about 5 miles with a lot of stops and starts and my mpg is about the same as yours. The more times you have to start up reduces your mpg. A lot of these guys getting mpgs in the upper 40s have long stretches with no stops.
For us people in the Great White North, is socal Southern California? (We just don't know your lingo!)
Boldlygo,

Yes... SoCal is Southern California :)

SoCal folks,

I think it's about time for a SoCal meet.

I think Wizzardelite gets his maybe next week and hopefully another 30 days or less for me.
I think we are the only Diego Town here.
Seacliff,

We'll do a Julian run when you get yours.

Tim
What's Julian run?

and yes, I'm getting roughly the same MPG as y'all in SoCal. Traffic sucks here.
Matt,

Julian run and apple pie would be fun. Hope that you and others SoCal folks will join us when Seacliff and Wizardelite get their car.

I know that the fuel consumption will take a hit running the twisty mountain roads, but the CT can hold its own.

Yes! It's urban sprawl on steroids on the west side! In the morning, I can use the 405 and 10 freeways, but it's slow/stop and go most of the time. That's maybe 60% of the trip. Going home, it's almost always better to avoid the freeways completely. So surface streets with lots of traffic lights and traffic! Many lights take several cycles to get through! So, lots of starting and stopping! I knew it had an effect, I just hadn't considered how much! I guess I'm doing pretty well all things considered!

AHHH, Apple pie and french vanilla ice cream, Yum!!

I'm still lost as to what a Julian run is.
Max12,

Here is a bit about Julian. It's famous for its apple pies.

714ct200h,

We'll do.

Our local San Diegans Seacliff and Wizardelite will be getting their car soon. I hope that happens soon before I leave town for Asia late Aug early Sept.

It would be good to meet the SoCal folks for some apple pies and and to taste some wine. Yeah... we just taste the wines, we don't swallow and drive :)
