Yes! It's urban sprawl on steroids on the west side! In the morning, I can use the 405 and 10 freeways, but it's slow/stop and go most of the time. That's maybe 60% of the trip. Going home, it's almost always better to avoid the freeways completely. So surface streets with lots of traffic lights and traffic! Many lights take several cycles to get through! So, lots of starting and stopping! I knew it had an effect, I just hadn't considered how much! I guess I'm doing pretty well all things considered!Your mpg is going to depend on how many times you have to stop and start n your 6 mile trip. I drive about 5 miles with a lot of stops and starts and my mpg is about the same as yours. The more times you have to start up reduces your mpg. A lot of these guys getting mpgs in the upper 40s have long stretches with no stops.
AHHH, Apple pie and french vanilla ice cream, Yum!!Seacliff,
We'll do a Julian run when you get yours.
