Been posting a bit figured it is time to do an introduction now that my CT200h search is almost complete.

I got my dealer (Putnam Lexus) ETA of 7/18-7/25... Of course it took until 7/25. Went in and got everything all set up and all was going smooth. Then I had an issue with my insurance company.

Had to finish all the paperwork and not take the car home last night. Now I am waiting until 9 AM to speak with my insurance agent to get it all straightened out. If all goes well (which it should) I will finally be bringing home my CT200h this evening.

I ordered a Star Fire Pearl Premium with Black NuLux.

About me... I'm Derek, I live in the East Bay. I am a 21 year old student and also work full time currently. I have always been very interested in the local groups cars have. I had a Matrix for a few years and us Bay Area Matrix folks had lots of great meets and get togethers. Hopefully there are enough CTs around so we can have some meet ups.

My past cars were a 2008 Toyota Matrix XR (White) and a 2010 Dodge Challenger R/T (White). Totally not a chick color :p lol.

Hope to be around here a lot learning and sharing with the community. :D

I hope you get the CT tonight, I still love mine!! I haven't seen many CT's on the road in the area, still pretty rare.

Thanks Max.
The car is now insured. Took all of 2 minutes to complete. Not sure why the 1-800 number couldn't handle it last night but what's done is done.

I will be picking up my new CT200h tonight!!! :D

Congrats! I got mine last month. I got smokey granite with nav and water grey leather seats at SJ. I've only seen 3 CTs in the south bay since march. They are rare to see :)

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

I will be on the look out for all your cars and be sure to wave if I see you. :)

Looks like there might be enough Bay Area folks to do a meet sometime I'll have to look into it and make a thread. :D

I managed to go from 13 miles on the odometer to just under 100 since I picked up last night. The average shows 46 MPG and this mornings commute was 44 MPG. I know the built in readings are a bit optimistic but for still learning how to drive it effectively and still breaking it in I am extremely happy with those numbers.

That's great! I've found my numbers on the computer to be 1-2 MPG above what it actually is (gas tank calculations), so they're pretty close!

Other people's posts on the forums seem to confirm this too.

Happy to read that there are other East Bay CT owners. Would be even happier if I was to see another one on the road besides mine. Bought my CT at Magnussons in Fremont back in March and have felt like the Lone Ranger since then. (I'll keep an eye out for you guys!)

Thanks Matt, the mileage is definitely exciting. I can't wait to get through this first tank and see the MPG numbers.

Hey Bill, I am in Fremont too. So there are now at least two in the city. :)

Another piece of great news I just got...
I called XM to add online listening during my trial. I have had online listening in the past and use it often. I asked to add it for the duration of my 3 month trial since it is a discounted rate of $3 per month if you have normal service.

I was pleasantly informed that I have a full 1 year of free XM service. :D
I guess I got what is offered in the amenities package without even asking for it. A great deal on the car just got even better by saving me around $100 in subscription costs. This whole car buying experience has been second to none and Lexus is definitely on their way to making me a customer for life.

Matt...I registered on Fuelly.com last weekend...kind of a cool site. Found out about it here on the forums. You just enter all your info (can even be done from your cellphone while you fill up if you want to). And, it tracks your actual MPG, costs, etc. There is only one other CT on the site but many Prius' and lots of other cars. I even registered my 66' Mustang convertible...I don't fill that one up too often as I drive it very rarely but check out the site. I think it's pretty cool.

Hi all - I'm living in SF, right in Nob Hill. Street parking... ugh. I bought my CT back on March 3rd ... in fact I was the first person to get a CT in the area - had deposits down at two places and got the first one off the truck.

Needless to say, I was loving the car even before I purchased it, and have been loving it since. Agate with caramel interior. Funny thing is I've only seen ONE since I bought mine, another agate driving around near the Ikea in Emoryville. Lost him/her before I had a chance to pull up alongside and give a thumbsup.

Welcome Kyle. You're new to the forums, but a grizzled vet of the CT. :)

Are the SF hills an issue with the CT? Do you get constant CVT whining? Do you make much use of the "hill hold" feature?

Hi Yow - It's funny, because of the hills I actually do better MPG on the highway than in the city. Maybe 40 / 43 respectively...? I do get a tiny bit of whine, but I don't notice it / care too much.

Speaking of the hill hold... it's incredible! My apartment is on one of the steepest hills in the city (we have stairs, not sidewalks), and when I'm outside I hear cars pealing out all the time. Not me... the "hill hold" works great.
