My '13 CT came with the protection package, including the rear bumper scuff plate. I would rather not have a piece of plastic attached to the bumper that is going to put scratches in the bumper itself (dirt is bound to get underneath and rub into the paint), so I tried to heat it up and remove it with fishing line. It didn't budge. The car just left the factory June 2013, so the adhesive couldn't have hardened already. Any tips for removing it? I might go to a place that paints cars to have it removed if I can't do it myself.

No, but I removed the black rubber one I had on to install the one you are trying to remove. It was not easy, but it came off. I can't imagine what the problem could be. Maybe you just need to pull harder or get stronger fish line. When I installed the scuff plate there was nothing tricky about it. Just 3M adhesive tape. Maybe the factory does it differently, but I doubt it.
