has anyone tried to modify the Halogen headlamps to have a full strip of LEDs?

currently, there is a gap in LED strip where the halogen projector is.

Yes, jennyPenny it can be done. You got to take the headlight assembly apart; the technique is to heat the whole assembly in the oven up to a certain prescribed degree to release the joints. You do the mod's, then you re-assemble the whole thing back by re-heating. I know people who have installed projector assembly in a non HID headlights to make it a true HID i.e from H11 to a D1S/D2S. You have to get a single LED to precisely "fit" the area under the projector lens which has to be "shaved" off, to create the space for the LED bulb. Re-solder the electric pig tails. This mod is quite complex, unless you are a well experienced mod specialist you are bound to screw it up.
