EV mode in Sports Mode

If I activate EV mode while in sports mode, the electric motors should stay in high output setting correct? Will the sport mode increase the threshold of when the ICE kicks in due to excessive acceleration? Or will EV mode deactivate at the same throttle opening rate regardless of mode?

Sport mode keeps the engine going a lot longer, plus it'll be more keen to bring the engine back in. So - in normal when slowing down to traffic lights, the CT would turn the engine off at the 45mph point. In sport mode, it'll keep the engine on until you're stopped. Other qu (apologies for the formatting - I blame work firewall!) - Electric at high output = should be ! But it'll go for the engine + motor together anyway.

Not true. I use sport mode exclusively and (if the engine is at normal operating temperature) the engine shuts down and the EV light comes on whenever the speed drops below 70 km/h or 45 mph.
How about when putting around in a parking lot... If the car is in sports mode, and I push the EV mode button, is the threshold for when the EV mode deactivates due to throttle the same as if the car was in normal mode?

Same.
IMO sport mode + turning off the tach is BETTER for fuel economy than normal or eco.
I had played around with everything when I got the car, and now I only user sport mode.

is it peppier, and gets me better mileage.

what does "turning off the tach" mean? turning off the tachometer display on the dashboard?

You can switch from the tach to the eco meter (or whatever it's called) in sports mode by turning on cruise control. I wish you could keep the tach displayed even when cruise control is on.
Strange ! I wonder if that's different software / programming / configuration for UK users ? Sport definitely held the engine on a lot longer in my CT (slowing down for roundabouts would see the engine stay on until the car was stopped) and I see the same behaviour in my IS300h. Must be a region difference ...

Well, I don't see any difference having the tach on or off. HOWEVER, with the tach off, I can use the eco gauge to better modulate my driving. I know that if I am under 45mph and keep the needle half way or below, the car will stay in EV, and the engine will be off.

I used to drive around in sport mode, because I was coming from a BMW 330 and the car felt sluggish to me. However, over time I adjusted to the CT, and now I drive in ECO. Why? As I noted above, I can modulate EV mode better. The longer play of the throttle pedal in ECO gives allows me to hold the car right at the EV threshold longer. With the shorter throttle pedal in Normal or Sport, it's harder to keep the pedal at the EV threshold, without accidentally kicking in the engine.
I've found if I'm going through a parking lot and I turn on both EV and Sport Mode, I can accelerate harder without the car kicking my out of EV mode due to excessive acceleration.
