Good morning fellow CT drivers. I am having my first modifications to my beautiful new car done on friday and I had some questions for the experts around this forum. First thing I am having installed is the Escort 8500ci Plus radar detector with the laser shifters. For the install, I was thinking about having the display/controller installed into the center console storage area (I guess that is what its called) and to have the bi-color LED installed into one of the unused blanks underneath the side mirror controls. What does everyone think about that?
As for the Vais Tech ML+, that is a little trickier. I want to have the unit at a location that I can get to easily instead of behind the monitor, such as under the seat. However, I dont receive the unit until tomorrow and I do not know how long the harness is. I wanted to do that so that I could easily change out cords for inputs. Also, the unit comes with a USB extender. I hate removing the functionality of the installed USB cord, so I was thinking I could run the installed USB cord to the Vais Tech unit instead of to its original input location. That would keep the clean look and function of the car. That way I could unplug the Apple Component Cable which will take up the USB input of the Vais Tech unit and plug in the original USB cord if need be. Confused yet? Haha
What does everybody think? Are these installations possible? Any advice on how to do it or on alternative installations?
