eDestinations

If you have Nav you get one year free of ENFORM which includes eAssist and eDestinations.

On my PC I programmed in 17 destinations that I wanted to download and program in my Navigation system. I organized them into 5 folders.

Then I went to the car and couldn't figure out where the eDestination place was ( it was late at night and I didn't want to trudge through the manual) so I called eAssist and they helped me out immediately ...eDestinations is under Points of Interfest (POI).

So I downloaded the destinations I had programmed in on my PC. It was all very seemless.

It also doesn't take up space for any of the 100 addresses you can program locally on your GPS.

Hopefully the eDestinations don't go away if I decide not to renew ENFORM, but they probably will.

Just took delivery of my 2012 CT about a month ago and now want to play around with eDestination. I successfully registered with Enform (already had a LexusDrivers account) but when I then try to access eDestination, it requests me to "link" my account. After submitting my username/PW, it states my eDestination subscription could not be located, call a 1-800 number (which no one is available at 11:30pm Sat night). I was under the impression I got Enform/eDestination/Safety Conn/Destination Assistant all free for the first year. I was told everything would be set-up by Lexus. That how it is typically done or did your Enform set-up go differently?
You may want to call your salesman. Mine set everything up for me.
Got set-up today via 1-800 number.

I will try out and weigh whether $265/yr is worth it....
I think eDestination cost them very little but most of the money goes toward paying wages for the chat people and for the cell connection. I can see that it would handy to just push a button and ask the person to route you to the closest Walmart or something. When I used it to route to Disneyland, my 6 yrs old in the car was very impressed of my talking car. :p Papa's car is so much cooler than Mama's.
How do you download it from your PC into you car's nav system?
It is not really directly from the PC. From the PC, you have to go to Lexus Driver page (via internet) and sign in and enter the addresses there to store at Lexus server. Then in the car, you just to go eDestination and download them from Lexus server wirelessly.

Wait a minute ... I thought the eDestination was part of Lexus Driver page, it is listed under the My Lexus tab.

eDestination/eFiles is nothing new and it is a generic service. BMW and others uses similar way to transmit via Google Map under send tab; and also certain pricey GPS units also got this feature all for free.
eDestination is part of ENFORM which will stop after 1 year if you don't pay for it. I don't think you could just pay for eDestination, you have to pay for destination assist (human voice one) bundled together and that is why it cost so much per year.
