I've seen some videos where the left guage adds an "Eco" range in green when this mode is active. Are you guys seeing this on North American models, or is the Eco the same as Normal for that left gauge?

It is possible that the display has changed somewhat for 2012, but on my car the "Eco" and "Normal" displays are the same. (... and "Sports" mode uses the same display when the cruise control is enabled)

There is a small "Eco" indicator on the display that comes on when the car is in Eco mode.
