I am promised a deliver on July 1st week and I signed up the contract before I found this forum. I don't know if I should believe the sales people and so wanted to see if any one got a delivery from "Don Valley North Lexus".

I don't know when I will get the VIN number etc..the fact that I don't have it now, I am quite sure that I was scammed to just get the order in ....

if any one got a delivery from there on time or even late please let me know about your expirience...it would help me and may be others tooo

When did you order your car?

When I ordered my car early in May, my sales associate in Ottawa was very clear that they could not promise a delivery date. They simply told me that I would get the car sometime within 1.5 and 8 months.

Unless you ordered you car before the earthquake, I'm surprised that DVN Lexus would give you a date.

Is there any way to walk away and get all money back..

I'm in the same boat as they said it would be available end of June. I called last week and the sale person told me my car is a May production and it will be available in Aug????? Are you kidding me?? Why does it take a car build in Japan 3 months to ship to Canada? Something is fishy.......

I ordered mine from lexus richmond hill in the begining of May, was told that I will get it in September. Then two weeks ago, sales called back and said my car will not arrive until October. Last Thursday, sales called again and brought me a good news; someone cancelled his order and the car (same colour and option as the one I ordered) is on the way to Vancover and it's going to arrive Toronto in mid July. This Thursday sales informed me my car is arriving next Monday and I could pick it up next Thursday. Basically you can never expect what's going to happen next from car dealer.

Oh, btw, sales told me that Richmond Hill and DVN are own by the same owner.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, I did not know it was this bad before I decided to buy it, I basically liked the car and I know it is worth waiting, but I need to move in to a 4 door car from my current coupe and just hoping that now dealer sticks to promise...

It would be really great if they were upfront about this , but in general looks like every one is in same boat.

I ordered my car in Mid of April...originally, he said the delivery date will be probably end of June - mid of July...now he said will be push back to end of Sept - mid of Oct due to high demand of CT and situation in Japan...>< my friend ordered her CT 2 weeks prior my order, but she already got her car next week of her order date...dat's why i came to the same sales at DVN...is she lucky or i am not lucky?

Hello, I'm from Calgary, and I ordered my CT late March 2011 at Lexus of Calgary from dealer - Scott F. Scott gave me the VIN on April 4, and told me my vehicle will be here for me to pick up around April 29.

I was very worry because of all the news in Japan, and the bad news about not able to pick up their vehicle in all the forums from different places, so I had been giving my dealer a very hard time haha..

And the good news is, I was told April 29, and I picked my CT on April 29. My dealer keep his promise! Although there's some minor problem on the vehicle when I picked it up, but Scott is able to arrange and fix them all for me. And that's why I think I should give him a good comment as well.

Good luck to you!

Unfortunately, it does take 2-3 weeks after the car is made for it to make it overseas. They're shipped on ships that take a few weeks to make it over here. Mine was built in 2/11, and it did show up the third week of March, and considering the delays in production, it may take a week or two longer to get it onto the ship.

But then again, it does take longer to make now, so you have to consider that as well in addition to shipping time.

When I was checking out the vehicle, both my dealer and myself noticed there's a few scratches on both side mirrors.. I believe they were caused by installing the 3M protection films (since the scratches are parallel to the 3M film).

Also, there was a mark on the plastic engine cover under the hood, which I didn't see until my friend was looking at it a few weeks after I picked up the car :( Good thing Lexus here provide really great service and they are willing to order a new parts and going to replace it for free without asking any questions (cause I didn't catch it during the inspection).

I will recommend to take your time to do a very detail check, and don't let anyone to rush you.. maybe bring a friend or two with you for a better inspection as well :)

Was the contract you signed conditional on delivery date? or you really want this car only. Just checking to know what it would mean for me

I ordered mine about the same time you ordered yours (3/12 I think), I was also told it would be a month before it arrived, I got it about 3 months later. I don't think they knew the magnitude of the problems that the quake and tsunami were going to have on production and delivery back then (I assume CT means Catastrophic Tsunami?? ;). ). I finally got my car a couple weeks ago, it was worth the wait...hang in there!!!

its not like i don't want the car. just frustrated waiting for so long. the sales lied to me back in March. I sold my car after I placed the order and I've been stuck without a car for over 3 months. Very inconvenient since I have to travel to and from work. Sent a complain letter to Lexus Canada and they weren't willing to do anything about it. At least they could have compensated me for giving me a loaner car

Lexus Canada saids all Lexus dealers are independent businesses. They have forwarded a copy of my file to DVNL with a case number and their management team would handle it.

So thats pretty much saying they don't care, its up to DVNL to deal with me.
