Here's how it looks on the shift knob and dash trim.

Not bad work at all. I like it. How easy is it to get a clean wrap around something with complex shape like the shift knob? That would be my concern moving into this project.

Thanks Lexceetee.

I watch the video from this site many times before attempting it. Although I bought the wraps from Amazom. DECALFX.com! Carbon Fiber Vinyl! Flexible, Stretchable, Low cost, high quality vinyl film overlay sheets! For hoods, custom interior trim moulding! 3M Di-Noc Dinoc wrap

The technique seems simple enough. It's a cobimation of heating with hair dryer to soften the wraps and gently stretching it into shape around the piece you're working on. As in the video clips you'll need to peel back and restretch to remove any crease.

Since the shift knob is small, I decided to separated the chrome part from the rubber base for better grip when pulling towards the curve side and tuck the wrap underneath.

To remove the shift knob turn it counter clockwise to unscrew from the stick. The bottom round plastic ring easily pops out. Next gently insert a small flat screw driver (or any flat object) between the chrome top and the rubber bottom half. Gradually work your way around until chrome piece pops out from two internal lock clip

The dash trim is held in place by plastic clips and easily pops out. Open the glove box to reach underneath between the trim piece and dashboard. Gently pull from radio side and work your way to the window side.
Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Bill

Gotta love 3M Di-Noc! Looks clean, bro!
Thanks Tracksyde and Matt. :)

Next project I will attempt to wrap the side mirror outer shell (body color piece). But feel apprehensive since I want to remove the mirror housing for a cleaner wrap between the black pieces and puling the mirror out is a bit scary.

Thanks for the offer 714ct200h.
I've done this once before when installing the LED puddle lights. Just have to muster enough courage to pull out those mirrors again. :)

Cheers
Yeah. If you need support or help, I can help too! LOL.

Thanks for the offer Matt.

Nothing like a double shot of whiskey to soothe the nerve and have a steady hand. :D

I will give it a try over the holiday weekend and see how it goes. :)
could we have a larger picture of the full dash please ? to feel the general ambiance ?
Thanks !

Great thanks alot ! It goes greatly with the rest of the grey areas of the car.
Nice job !
hey there great job !
Did you go for black 3M carbon sticker or dark-grey ?
I'm asking that because to me, our leather seats and leather in general looks dark grey not black.

Hi. I chose the black color to blend in with the dash and center console shading.
Wondering how the 3M is holding up since you put it in? Also I know you got the black 3M, but was it glossy or plain? Thinking about this for my next mod.
It has a matte finsh texture to it. They're holding up pretty good considering that it's parked out in the sun some of the time.
So did you manage to do your exterior wing mirror in the end?
