Hey all,

Apologies if this has been asked before, I searched and wasn't able to find any precedents.

I bought a pre-owned certified Lexus (Canadian) last week.

I realised yesterday that it has a dead spider in one of the inner rear light assemblies (sounds silly but I just can't think of anything else when I look at the car and I really like the car so much it's a shame...)

The dealer tells me it's not included in the certification and will be 2 hours of labour in the shop.

Assuming that's correct and I'm not having a fast one pulled on me, does anyone know of any ways I can DIY the little blighter out of there?

Thanks very much in advance and apologies again if this has been asked before.

Something like that would definitely not be included in a certification.

I'd imagine you would be able to get it out yourself if you remove the taillight.

Hopefully this video will help you:

Once you've pulled the harness apart from the light, you can turn it all around and hopefully get it out. Or, maybe even try using a vacuum on it.

Agree with the vacuum idea. tape a smaller tube or hose to the larger vacuum hose, to get into the housing and extricate that spider.
