So, we're about to approach a year of the CT200H being out - Does anyone know of any differences between the CT200H for the 2011 manufacturered model and the 2012 one?

Other than the addition of the F - series, nothing. The 2011 was in production for a short period of time.
Aren't you forgetting the 6 litre V8 they dropped in for all you Americans who wanted a bit more power???
There is actually a difference. The 2012 have a pedestrian warning system and F-Sport package. I'm more interested into what they going to come out with 2013 model, the plug in and cramping Camry hybrid into CT300h are some things that people talking about. The 2013 ES is going to use this engine and it gets 40 MPG! (2.5 liters hybrid engine I believe) and CT supposed to be lighter then ES. It’s going to be exiting for future CT.
isn't the enform system different in 2012?

I don't have the pedestrian noise maker.
There was info about additional storage box in the center console in non-NAV version, but still didn't see this.

Pedestrian warning system isn't a new feature - it was on Japan market from 2011.
I don't have the pedestrian noise maker.
you do, it's an artificial noise the engine makes when in pure electric.

you probably dont notice it because it sounds... well it sounds genuine...

I have a 2012 FSport. It doesn't have any artificial noise when in pure electric.
have you compared it to a 2011?

again, you are confusing the artificial noise with what you perceive to be the noise it should make. roll down your window while the EV light is on roll ahead 6 inches and stop. you'll hear silence, very faint engine electric sound thing, then silence when you stop again.

if you hear anything from the engine other than birds chirping overhead, guess what.
2012 differences from 2011:

1) F sport and F Sport SE availability
2) noise maker
3) add'l Blue color
4) non nav versions have a storage thing where the nav would be

I believe enform was NOT updated for 2012 so it is the same old Enform. Anything else?
Where are all these cars with noise makers? I have a 2012 and there is no noise maker on mine. Is it only in tree hugger states? Do they tell you there is a noise maker so you can assume you hear it? Is it like one of those New Years Eve paper snakes that comes out the front and wiggles and makes noise?

It is obvious that some people think all 2012 CT200's have a "noise maker" but from what I read, that was a proposal that has not been passed yet and is not required by any law. Maybe Lexus put it on as a running 2012 modification to forestall future legislation, but I can assure you that all 2012's do NOT have a noise maker, and as proof, I can send you an affidavit from my dog, who I literally scared the *%^ out of the other day as I was coming home and slowly driving into my driveway.

its actually very difficult to hear and might can be easily perceived as electric motor noise. best way to confirm you have it is to check for the speaker. simply turn the wheel to full lock facing right, undo a few fender liner clips on the left wheel well, peel it back and take a peek. haha dunno if you care enough to know though..
I pretty sure like I posted I don't have it. I don't know if cars out of the US have them. Let me share this with the group of the US.

"The NHTSA has until July 4, 2012 to draft a proposal for the pedestrian alert tone, and a final ruling is due by January 4, 2014. Once set, manufacturers will have until September of 2017 to include the warning tone on hybrid and electric vehicles."

What is the point? If it is so hard to hear, why do it at all? I thought it was so pedestrians could hear and be forewarned. That makes no sense. I am not about to take panels off, but if I can't hear it with the windows down, I have to think I don't have any noisemaker, and while some 2012's may have a noisemaker (I have to think that not all the people who have claimed to have one are delusional), saying that it is a model change for all 2012's seems not based on reality.
i think some laws are in the works that it can't be silent

given that requirement, a very slight noise that sounds genuinely "electronic" would be the way go

There is no such thing as a"silent" car. There is tire noise, there is electric motor noise, there is A/C compressor noise, there is regenerative braking noise, there is lots of other noise. I suspect that some really high priced luxury vehicles are quieter than E/V vehicles, so I think there will be a lot of trouble drafting and passing a regulation that would be lawful and not discriminatory or unconstitutionally vague. Just look at your version of what the criteria would be! Define the key word. What does "silent" mean? And that begs the original question of whether this "anti-silent" accessory is standard on all 2012 models. I just don't think so. Maybe at some point there was a running change, but it is not on my car, I am pretty sure.

This is a great point! I was walking down the street today and big 90's era Jag rolled by going the other way. I couldn't believe how quiet it was, its amazing that you can muffle an internal combustion engine to that level considerining how freaking loud they are with straight pipes.

On the point of noise makers on the EV cars, I'm unsure of whether I'd want them or not. I did get stuck behind a pair of cyclists in a down-town area the other day. I came right up behind them in all-electric mode and they had no idea I was there. I didn't want to honk so I just yelled "excuse me" out the window and they moved over. I could tell they had no idea I was there.
