I had originally decided not to get the CT because I thought it was too small for me. But after driving, looking over every detail of the car, and driving some more, I can't help but love the CT. So I decided to get my bank involved and use their car buying service that pretty much do the haggling on my behalf.

The bank came back with a price of $36,691 (+ tax) with premium package and all the other packages I wanted (NAV, leather, premium audio, accessory package). I live in So Cal fyi. I think that is just a few hundred over invoice. Is this a good deal compared to what you guys paid?

Very good deal. I have been shopping for a CT 200h and I am in SoCal too. I have been able to find a couple of dealers willing to move a car for $200.00 under invoice on a 2011 in stock if sold this month.

If you can get them to move at all on the price you're doing okay. In my area they have waiting lists and there is no haggling. I was fortunate to buy before the earthquake and managed to save about $800.

They should be dealing soon on any 2011 on the lot. Just like those iPhone 4s, they'll be worth less soon. If you can find one on the lot at the end of next month, time to haggle. Might even be worth buying the car out of state if a deal is to be had. Time to grab that smokey granite....

Well I ended up pulling the trigger on a 2012 Nebula Gray base (no sunroof) model. The car is already in port and should be ready for pick up at the dealer within seven days. I haven’t seen the color yet, but I am confident I will like it. I was originally looking for a 2011 $29,995 base MSRP unit, but I didn’t find a lot of inventory of base models. Several dealers offering $2,000 off base “premium” cars, it just takes a couple of emails to dealer internet sales department to get that price. I would list dealers selling them for that price, but I don’t want to break ant forum rules. Just pm me if interested.
