Today for the first time I experienced a potential problem with my CT200.
I was driving in Sport mode on the interstate and decided to put on the cruise control. Bad idea.
The display instantly reverted to Normal mode even though the Sport indicator light remained on. I tapped the brake pedal to disengage the cruise control but the dial gauges did not return to the Sport red mode.
I had to completely turn off the cruise control by the side control button to get the Sport mode dashboard to reappear.
Has anybody come across this? I have to look in the manual if it says only to use cruise control in Normal mode.
It looks like cruise control must be completely off, not just disengaged to use the Sport mode properly.
Appreciate any feedback from other owners.

Correct, it is working nomally. In sport mode and the cruse on the eco meter will be on and not the tach. It's in the manual I and several others found that out as well and when I looked in the manual it said that is normal.

Glad nothing is wrong

Thanks for the info and reassurance. I had it in Sport mode to accelerate onto the highway. I should then have switched it back to Normal before engaging the cruise control.

I think the reason why the car reverts to normal or eco mode colors when cruise control is on is because the cruise control is tuned to save gas.

The way Lexus set up the tach display/ cruise control is weird logic.

Selecting sport mode is a conscious decision. Even if I select cruise control I should be able to see the tach display in sport mode particularly if I've hit the brake and disengaged CC.

To completely disable CC b4 the tach reappears in sport mode is an unnecessary step.

I was confused by this feature last week and thought the electronics had malfunctioned.

I agree with you. Living on the I-95 corridor there are times when you need the acceleration the Sport mode provides. Cruise control should not disable the tachometer display. On I-95 you may be cruising along and suddenly traffic slows to 30 mph. Then very quickly it may speed up again to 65 mph. You need to keep up with the traffic that Sport mode offers. Seems to me Lexus could have thought about this scenario.

It is a CVT. Seeing the tach isn't really necessary.

My understanding is that if you mash the gas, it will get sport mode acceleration.
Yes. To me, sport mode just seems like a software tweak to increase throttle response on the low end. Nothing different than stepping a little harder on the gas.
