You mis-read that law obviously. No text or photographs were re-hosted and re-posted on the site, just the link to consumer reports actual website.

I've actually seen automotive sites go after forums before, and its because they re-host the material without crediting the authors or providing a link to the original site, not because they linked the site in the first place (which is what they want to happen in the first place).
