 Does anyone else experience a faint click sound when the brake pedal is initially slowly engaged? It happens consistently.

Noticed this when I was at a crawl's pace in traffic yesterday. I suspect it's normal.

BTW, at a terrible average of 12 km/hr for over 2 hours in traffic, I still got an amazingly low 6.5 l/100km consumption. I could imagine over 20 l/100km or more for your average 4-cyl car! SUV, let's not even go there! :)

Thanks guys. I also had some very faint occasional squealing of the brakes the first 100-150 km or so of ownership this week, but seems to be gone now. Probably some initial manufacturing coating on the rotors or pads that's now worn off.

the temp has been colder the past few days in toronto and switching back and forth between freezing and non freezing too. So the brake squeal could also be from salt on the roads and/or the rotors getting up to temp in the first few seconds. Or coating as you mentioned.
