ladies and gents!

All the marketing material here in Canada (brochures, websites, etc..) points to a standard feature on all trims of the CT: Auto Tilting Side Mirrors!!

But I'm pretty sure my car does NOT have this, no matter what I do with the Left/Right power mirror switch. I have a touring edition CT.

Anyone else in Canada have this issue?

Can anyone confirm whether there's a setting that needs to be configured at the dealership?

I'm confused.

Thanks!

Ok, so it's not on the base model, and only on the premium. BUT why does the marketing material list it as a standard feature.

that's what's making me upset. I was expecting this feature on the base model CT.

The Canadian brochure I have lists "Auto-dimming side view mirrors" as an upgrade in both the Premium and Technology packages, but not an "auto-tilting" feature.
Oops! My bad. It does indeed have listed as a Standard Safety and Security Feature "Power-adjustable, outside heated foldable mirrors, puddle lamps, integrated turn indicators and auto tilt-down in reverse"

Update: Got a confirmation from DVN Lexus' parts/service department that it is indeed a standard feature and that maybe they forgot to program it before I took delivery. swell. he also mentioned it's not worth it for me to come in just for that. hmm

Indeed lexus.ca states it's a standard feature.

Samu-ry, I have the Canadian Touring Package and mine don't tilt as well even if the manual says it should with the mirror switch set to either L or R. I'll reach out to my agent at ErinPark see what he says as well. Keep us informed of your findings

So what happens if the mirror selector is either in Left or Right. Does only the Left of Mirror tilt down in reverse?

No, they both tilt. Setting the selector in L or R simply turns on the tilt feature. The center position turns off the tilt feature.

my side mirrors would not tilt as well when I do back in, so do I have to bring it back to let them program it?
I have the base model.

@Bleufee, regardless of your model, Canada has it listed as a "standard feature". Talk to your dealership and schedule them to program it (or on 5k checkup).

@Samu-ry, your dealer said it wasn't worth coming in for, are you still going to ask them to program it

I just came back from the dealership. Even after the service guy told me over the phone that it's standard and to come in to fix, they told me (after my appt.) that it's not a standard feature and only comes with memory seat package (which is wrong). I met up with my salesperson and he and I went to go see the Senior service manager, who's concerned now that there may be an issue with false advertisement. He told me he's going to call Lexus Canada to see what's up.

@Oxfordct; the mirrors do not tilt on either L or R setting.

@bluefee; i'd bring it into your dealership and bring it up. the more people that do so, the better it will be for the consumers.

@corrado_mr2; what did your agent at Erin Park say?

I told the service manager that he should be weary that this may become a larger issue then they may be anticipating.

@Oxfordct: the mirrors won't tilt on either L or R setting..:<

I emailed my sales agent and she probably misunderstood my question, I emailed her again to bring that up to her.

I did read the owner's manual and it said auto-tilting only comes with memory seat package so I don' feel quite happy about this false advertisement if it is true...

So I just received a call from my sales agent, she said this feature is not in the standard model, and she brought it up to her manager to bring that up to Lexus Canada.

I am not too happy about not having that but I guess I can only live with that.

@bluefee; We should not have to live with it; False advertising is a serious offence in my opinion.

As a general update, I received a call back from the senior service manager, who's quite upset at the fact that Lexus would do such a thing. He's going to bring it up with the General Manager of DVN (who I emailed about this issue and have not received a response to date; since April 5, 2011). He wants to push something in terms of the dealership offering a form of compensation for the false advertising, just to avoid me from sending something to Lexus Canada and/or getting the media involved. I'll update everyone with what happens if/when they call me. My confidence level is quite low at this point.
