Hi all, this might be just a general questions for most used cars, however, I realized that some used CT200h, be it premium or F sports version, some of the used ones don't have front license plate shown in their pictures. I then looked at their carfax and some says damage reported for one or 2 that discloses that information, that explains why front bumper was replaced because those are honest people. However, I still see a lot of the CT200h has no front plate, not even the bracket. In one dealership, 2016 ~35K miles 1 owner, F sports, but it's about $4000 cheaper than another F sports with about the same milage, both are L-certified. The cheaper one has no front plate bracket, front bumper looks really nice and clean(cuz it's new?!!). Why? could it be damaged and fixed? Would a "service record" disclose that? Is it difficult to ask for a service record that's not on carfax from the dealerships?
Question is, does that mean that most of these used cars that have no front plates, possibly has some kind of damages that are not reported and fixed by dealerships and sold "cheaper"? Anyone out there knows that the front plate bracket have some visible screw holes visible if removed? Or could it be that there is a hidden extended bracket that's removed and it doesn't messed up the front bumper with screw holes? I'm talking about California, so I think it is "required" by the state that the dealerships install the front brackets. I checked the carfax history, the car is always a California car.
I'm so confused as to why some same F sports models sold by Lexus dealerships are much more expensive to the ball park of $23000 for a 2016 model with about 25K - 53K miles.
anyways thanks in advance.
