I could probably figure this out myself, but I’m kind of lazy.
We have two iPhones connected to our car as Bluetooth audio sources. I know that when both phones are in Bluetooth range, we need to specifically connect to a phone before using it as an audio source.
If only one phone is in Bluetooth range, will the car automatically connect to that phone and use it as the audio source?
Thx

I use two cell phones in the car (one personal, one business). I know you can't have both phones connected via bluetooth to the car (even though I could do this with my Bluant+ device). So for the non-nav cars is there a quicker way to change the phone selection other than to have to go through 5 voice commands: "Setup, Phone Setup, Select Phone, Name of Phone, Confirm)?

Tom and Yow.. I just was testing this pretty extensively. Doesn't seem possible to have it change automatically.

This is definitely a "fail" in that they didn't give us a quick way to do it using the hands-free buttons and voice.

Another item for the list of faults with the CT... This is a pretty big one in my mind..

For those who need to do this a little more quickly, it's fastest I think to do it via the TUN-SEL knob.

Goes something like this... ;)

Push the off-hook button
Go to the TUN-SEL knob
"phone" don't need to push, left 1 stop
"setup" push, right two stops
"phone setup" push, right two stops
"select phone" push right to the "phone desired"
push, "confirm" push...

So... fastest wording is...

Off-hook
left 1
push, right two
push, right two
push, right2phone
push, push

If one gets used to this it can go much faster than using voice... Not good for while driving though unless your passenger can do it.. :(

Annoying... ;)

The navigation option will connect to the unique phone in the vehicle. If 2 phones are present, the one connected last will connect again. I do not know about multiple phones present, only have 2 in the family. Tested one night after the other phone holder stated she did not have to "select" phone. It just connected. Hope this helps for anyone(nav or non nav) is looking for information.

Are you saying if you have the Navigation option in your CT and you have two phones registered, it automatically selects the phone present, and if that phone leaves and the 2nd phone comes to the CT.. the 2nd phone will now connect automatically without any user actions???

If so.. that is great and definitely a plus for for you Navers... :)

Thanks kalo925. I wonder if this could be an easy firmware upgrade?
Tomster.. didn't reply yet because it is hard for me to know the differences between our Non-Nav and the Nav versions. It would be VERY unlikely they would do anything special to help just the Nav version. But if the Nav Version is switching automatically, it seems strange that ours does not...

That is correct. I confirmed by testing myself and talking to a diagnostic specialist at Lexus. This is a feature of the latest generation navigation system. I did not ask about non nav, but that system may be the same as earlier models(not a new generation).
